For my great grandmother (1913-2008), who passed away peacefully at the ripe old age of 95 years.

Eternal rest, grant unto her, oh Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her.
May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I am dedicating this post to grandma Sarah Ianniciello who passed away last weekend

My great grandmother Molly passed away this morning. Please remember her in your prayers. She was a sweet lady who lived her life to the fullest.

Most Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - I offer You the Most Precious Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ in supplication for the relief of the souls in Purgatory.

Holy Mary, Star of the Sea, console your children as they suffer temporal punishment.

For our bishop Francis whose father Samuel recently passed away and the repose of Samuel’s soul.
Heavenly Father I humbly ask that you welcome Samuel and all the other souls into your Kingdom where they can enjoy everlasting life. I also ask you to grant peace to their families. I ask this in your name. Amen

:signofcross::signofcross:I dedicate this post in honor of my Mom and Dad, who taught me about God and how to be a good Catholic. Dad passed away in 1998 at the age of 88 and Mom in 2007 at the age of 89. She lived in my household for the last 7 years of her life.

When I was worried about my father, since he passed away while I wasn’t with him, I looked to God for a sign that my dad was all right. Soon a white deer began coming close to my yard. I didn’t think anything about it at first. But on Divine Mercy Sunday, which happened to fall on my birthday that year, I prayed for something tangible asking God for a birthday present. A couple months later on my daughter’s birthday, the deer came into my yard. I suddenly remembered what I had prayed about. After that, I never saw the deer again. For all those who believe in signs, no explanation is needed; for all who don’t believe, no explanation is sufficient.

Eternal rest grant unto Rose and Joseph and let perpetual light shine upon them and all my deceased relatives and friends.

I dedicate this post to the most wonderful mother in the entire world, Gayle Marie Bleakley Vicknair who passed away March 19, 2009 at 5:32 a.m. She was 72 years old and loved very much by her husband of 49 1/2 years and her 4 children, Ken, Don, Lisa, & Lori (me) and her six grandchildren, Toby, Whitlee, Christian, Austin, Lexi, and Addisyn.

She died of lung cancer, but also suffered from heart diease and alzhiemer’s. My Mom’s only bad vice was smoking cigarettes and that’s what killed her. Before we found out how ill she was, she was the strongest woman I ever knew. Even days before she passed, when I asked her if she was in pain, she said no. I wonder?

May God give me courage to move on without my mother, who was the “rock” of my life.

Eternal rest, grant unto her, oh Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her.
May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

Amen and AMEN!!!

Robbers shoot, wound woman
A young woman was shot in the stomach while trying to fight off robbers who barged into her house, hogtied her mother and siblings and took their cell phones and money late Tuesday night in Pasig City. Cherry Painaga was reported to be in critical condition at the Rizal Medical Center where she was rushed for a gunshot wound she sustained during a robbery staged by suspected “Gapos” gang members, investigators said and died after the operation in Medical City.

The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. inside the Painagas’ house at 21 E. Santos St., Barangay San Joaquin, said Chief Supt. Leon Nilo de la Cruz, Eastern Police District director. Based on the initial probe, the five robbers, brandishing .38 caliber pistols, broke into the Painagas’ house and hogtied all six members of the household: Cherry, her mother Gloria and siblings Jericho, Sandra, Aina and Pamela.

Cherry tried to resist but one of the armed men shot her in the stomach, according to a report by Insp. Belinog Zenampan of the Pasig Police Station. The robbers reportedly tried but failed to rape two of the siblings, but De la Cruz said he was not aware of the rape attempt.
Investigators said Jericho was able to free himself from being tied and screamed for help, prompting the robbers to flee. De la Cruz said the suspects managed to take only four cell phones and around P60,000 to P72,000 in cash.

Please remember our daughter, Katy, who passed away 6 years ago March 14. She was only 24. She was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer just as she was about to start her senior year of college. For 4 years she endured surgeries, chemo, radiation etc She fought so hard for her life only to lose it 1 week before her wedding. I have been grieving for 10 years for my lost child. Some days the only thing that gets me up in the morning is knowing that someday we will be reunited, God willing. My husband has a strong faith which has gotten him through. I don’t have what he does - I still can’t understand why such a beautiful young woman who had so much love in her heart, was taken from us. In the last couple of years I have turned toMary for comfort. She was not only a mother, she was also a mother who lost her child. If anyone knows how I feel, she does. I’ve been trying to pray the rosary more and I often wonder how she must have felt after the death of her child. So please remember our Katy. I read a Greek saying, not long after she died that goes:“There is not a short life or a long life. There is only the life that you have, and the life you have is the life you are given, the life you work with. It has its own shape, describes its own arc, and is perfect.” Thank you for reading this. Peace and love.

I too lost my daughter. She was born with severe cerebral palsy. She lived into her adult years. I still find it difficult to discuss. Devotion to Our Blessed Mother and recitation of the most holy rosary have given me great strength, and perseverance, which I know I could not have done by myself!
I told my daughter many times while she was living, when I die I plan to see her “running to me” and lifting ‘me’ up, and calling me “ma ma” (she couldn’t talk but nodded to everything, as she understood perfectly). I know that one day all of us will be at the big banquet sharing in God’s glory for all eternity!
.Eternal rest grant unto them oh Lord, let perpetual light shine upon them…may the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen

I would like to dedicate this post to my son Austin who was killed in Iraq Dec. 15, 2007. He was killed just four days before his 23rd. birthday. Austin was only there three days before he was accidentally shot by his best friend. It has not been easy. He is loved very much and missed by myself his mother, his dad, six sisters, one brother, his in-laws and neices and nephews and by his many friends. I want to thank God for the support that our families have been giving us since this has happened. And to God for holding us in the palm of His hands, carrying us through all the rough times.

This is certainly a heavy cross to bear. I feel for you from the bottom of my heart and I’ll pray for you and your family.

“May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord let HIs face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
May He look upon you kindly and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:22-27)

I’m sorry seems so inadequate. Your family is in my prayers and I pray especially for his best friend and his family as well. Austin you are a true hero and you will never be forgotten! Thank you Austin. I look forward to seeing you guarding the streets of heaven one day.
