I think you already stated the problem OTCA. The Catholic Church drifted frombeing Catholic. Too bad that some Church leaders decided to be politicians instead of churchmen. I hate that it happened.
The first Apostles were not exactly the same as Jesus and therefore “drifted” from being Catholic by your definition?
Why must we always doubt Jesus?
Do not confuse human sinfulness and frailty among Catholics and clergy throughout history with the Truth of Jesus Christ.
To say there is politics in the Catholic Church, so it must be false, is ridiculous!
“Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, adoring and asking something of him. Who said to her: What wilt thou? She saith to him: say that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom. And Jesus answering, said: You know not what you ask. Can you drink the chalice that I shall drink? They say to him: We can. He saith to them: My chalice indeed you shall drink; but to sit on my right or left hand is not mine to give to you, but to them for whom it is prepared by my Father.
And the ten, hearing it, were moved with indignation against the two brethren.” Mt 20:20-24.
Sounds like politics to me, among the 12 chosen by Jesus the Christ, the living God Himself!!
So according to your logic, Jesus allowed sinful men who were playing politics, to be among His chosen Apostles, so Jesus didn’t teach the Truth?
Don’t fall for the lies and the doubts planted by the Devil himself. His tactics are always the same, divide and conquer!
We are all sinners but God created us in His image and He loves us.
