The scriptures don’t say that Jesus broke the bread and said ‘this is my body’ when he ate with the disciples on the way to Emmaus. He ate a meal with them and during the meal he allowed them to recognize him. You may speculate that this was a celebration of eucharist but this isn’t specified.
**You are correct Jesus does not reveal the consecrated formula here as he did at the last supper. But it doesnt say that he didn’t either. Now remember the passover meal had just happened and was celebrated during his passion. So we know it was not that.
verse 30 And it happened that, while he was with them at table, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them. With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him.**
Tell me is the way they ate all there meals, give from one anothers plate?
Certainly, to say that Jesus went into the bread is not accurate. At the last supper, Jesus didn’t vanish from sight. I think it would be correct to say that this appearance of Jesus points toward the eucharist but not that this was a mass.
I respect your opinion, but who said Jesus went into the bread, better yet who teaches such a thing?
After Jesus had explained to the disciples all the scriptures relating to the messiah, he vanished. The bible doesn’t tell us the reason. But the disciples immediately returned to Jerusalem to share his appearance and what he said with the apostles. Presumably, if Jesus had remained with them, they would not have left him and returned to Jerusalem. So my speculation is that he left them so they would get moving and return to Jerusalem.
