Y’alls, here, if you mean it in the plural sense, is usually talking about different groups of people, Honestly though, it’s actually kind of rare to hear that anymore.

I seem to have forgotten how to relax. The extremely stressful semester we just had has been over for weeks and I still don’t feel at ease. Lockdown isn’t helping…we locked down again last week and it ruined my hiking plans with my friends.

Anyway, can ya’ll pray for my job search? The pharmacy I am currently working at only gave me one extra shift since school ended and I am trying to find another gig for the other 5 days of the week at other stores within the same chain. Right now, a store in the city is looking at my application and called me this morning to confirm I was willing to make the commute.
Praying for you.

I hope you feel better soon. 🙂

Croatian language and literature,
Welcome! My aunt’s Croatian and my Mom learned the language waaaayyy back before I was born; she’s lost most of it now but now I want to learn Slovak (we’re from there, back in the day) so maybe I’ll pick some up!

I’m a 16 year old girl from Australia, currently in my second last year of high school. I converted to Catholicism at the age of fourteen after being raised atheist. I have no idea what I’m going to do with my life but I’ve thought about studying nursing, English or theology at uni (lol quite the mixed bag, I know) and am also considering the possibility of religious life. If that’s where God is calling me I’d be more drawn to contemplative orders like the Benedictines or the Carmelites. Particularly the Carmelites.

As for my hobbies, I don’t really have a lot of spare time especially after going back to ‘normal’ school (yeah coronavirus never really caught on here like it did in Europe and the US… and yet churches are still all but closed… our PM needs to get the memo haha) but when I do I usually read, walk my dog or do some knitting while watching YouTube. I’m boring and proud of it xD My family calls me an old woman. Ah well no shame in that.

I’ll usually either watch Catholic channels like Ascension Presents or Gabiafterhours, or videos about fiction writing and how to craft stories. (Ah yes I forgot to mention I like creative writing though I’m not very good at it haha). Diane Callahan is my favourite for that. Otherwise I sometimes watch fancy makeup tutorials just for fun. I don’t really wear makeup but I love watching people put it on and do pretty artistic stuff with it.

I’ve tried writing a novel several times. The last attempt, I gave up after around 8 chapters because I could not come up with a good backstory for my villain and my protagonist was too bland. Honestly, it seems a lot easier to write cool side characters than protagonists.

So, the good news is a landed an internship with a pharmacy chain. The bad news is I am not sure if it is happening due to the riots. Pray there is a solution.

Well that’s good news! ⭐

The riots will hopefully end soon and you can begin work!

Thanks, I hope so too. I want to be excited about this, but I cannot because I am in this state of limbo. I can also use the dough, too. My mom is losing the job she has had the past 23 years in August. With her poor English and lack of computer skills, I doubt she will be able to find a job in this economy.

Sigh: they still haven’t assigned me a store. Everything is boarded up in Chicago in anticipation of more riots. Perhaps they are waiting to see which stores are still left standing before assigning me.

Hi Megan – hope you’re hanging in there. You expressed a fair amount of anxiety in the earlier thread you started. I had a relapse of scruples myself as I was getting ready for confession (first time since the lockdown) a couple weeks ago. My confessor (an experienced and holy pastor) reminded me of something that applies to people like us – the doubt (as to whether or not you committed mortal sin) is always in your favor, as you would KNOW if you did.

I start my internship tomorrow guys!

Pray this pharmacy manager likes me and I can make a good first impression. He probably was not expecting an intern to be dumped on him this summer.

It’s been too quiet on here.

Alright people, what strange things has the YouTube algorithm been recommending for you? I’m not sure if it’s doing that for everyone, but, lately YouTube has been resurrecting decade-old Onion satire videos. I didn’t even know The Onion made videos, but they hold up really well and made a very pleasant surprise for me.

Back in the States. I just wanna curl up and sleep forever and never study anything ever again because my brain is dead.

I usually just watch storytime animations and film essays, but I watched a show on YouTube called All Saints Street and now I’m getting so many weird animations and short films in my recommended,

Yes! I’ve been watching those lately as well. I wish they hadn’t stopped the Onion News Network.
