How necessary are our prayers for the conversion of sinners? Wouldn’t God still give them the grace of conversion if we didn’t pray gor them?

God knows full well what He will do, but we do not. Therefore, we pray. The hardest prayer to offer is that God’s will be done. Why? Because our human wills so often oppose His - yet He knows what is ultimately - in the final analysis - good for us.

When in doubt, pray. Yes, God can give his grace to whomever but he is pleased when we cooperate with him through our prayers.

All I know is we are instructed to intercede for each other.
The nuts and bolts of “how” it works are not for me to worry about.

God can do anything, but God wants us to pray, to ask Him for our needs and wants. He especially wants us to pray for each other, to love each other. That is our way we are giving God our love by praying to Him.

The only way for God to know we know Him is through prayer, praying for each other, no matter who they are tells God we know each other as well.

I think a big part of our praying for one another is a way of growing closer together. It’s a way of loving our neighbour. God doesn’t need us, we need him. It’s aligning our will to His, and growing together in unity.
