This story is all over the Australian news today. In the US only citizens and permanent residents are allowed to own guns. It seems to fly in the face of the argument that gun ownership is a divine right unless those arguments at the same time think that only Americans are human beings that qualify for divine rights.
I believe that unless the Constitution specifically demonstrates that US citizens are by nature superior to the rest of the world, that it should permit anyone who is allowed into the country to arm themselves for protection in a gun rich environment. If non US citizens are not permitted this right, it should be written into visa conditions.
