Just curious. How do y’all feel about the term Hail Mary pass which is regularly used to describe a desperation play in football?

I voted not bothered at all because of its origin. It was supposedly named such because of Roger Staubach (former Dallas Cowboys QB) who is apparently a devout Catholic and when he threw a pass to a receiver, he told reporters he said the Hail Mary. The receiver caught the ball and the Cowboys made the game winning touchdown. I don’t think the naming the play a Hail Mary was intended to be sacrilegious.🤷

I agree. It’s called the Hail Mary pass because it is so hard…so it’s like a prayer.😃
