Mary’s physical body was assumed to heaven at death - and I understand this is not required belief.
Required by the Catholic Church - I thought
You already had this answered. Just so no one reads my post the wrong way, yes we are required to believe she was assumed into heaven.

However, I wanted to add from my understanding it is not required to believe when she was assumed. Meaning before she died or after she died. I know of no official teaching on the exact moment of her assumption.

God Bless

The two thieves on the crosses, dying, next to Jesus, show us how important the last moments of life can be - moments that we cannot always see or know about. We may have relatives, for example, who led lives far distant from God, for all that we could see or know about, and died - as far as we could know - unconverted, unrepentant, lost.

But we cannot know of possible moments that such people could have had with Christ in their dying - as the “good thief” of his cross had with Jesus in his dying. He was saved, in the end, and unless we had learned of his time with Jesus we may have assumed he died a lost man - but he did not.
(Luke 23:43) And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

We not only can, we ought to pray for the salvation of all - as the Catechism teaches us (CCC 1821) " In hope, the Church prays for “all men to be saved.” <1 Tim 2:4>"

I am not sure about the point.
Jesus is God. I believe He said so when He said I am.

Mary is His mother. The only way to say that she is only the mother of His human part is to split Him up. She is His mother He is God…

One of the biggest arguments between Catholics and Non-Catholics is over Mary. Catholic tradition says Mary ascended into Heaven, but Protestants argue there is no Biblical or historical proof for this and that they pray that Mary is in Heaven.
I would answer to Protestants the religion is finally the belief in mysteries and “Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.” Mathew 7
God chose Mother Mary and angels to defeat Satan for us, so I honor her and angels and want to be her side, not devils, especially she is Mother of God.
I also honor any church does not go beyond the boundary of the divine goodness.

“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book…” Revelation 22:18
However, as there was no compiled Bible 2000 years ago John was talking about nothing being added to the scripture he wrote, i.e. Revelations.
