Have you read the book of Daniel? What are your thoughts on the verses above?

Well as an unbeliever I think the writer was trying to produce a response of some sort in his (her?) readers or listeners.

Exactly what response is hard to tell but we know the writer was writing as if predicting events that had already happened and were known to his readers or listeners to have happened. The words you mention in this interpretation have nothing at all to do with 2020 and were never intended to. The prophecies are of a ‘Son of Man’, defined as the “people of the holy ones of the Most High” (v. 27, see v. 18). That is the nation of Israel.

Israel did not triumph as predicted and as Bart Ehrman, my favourite atheist biblical scholar says: “That never happened of course – which is why later interpreters were compelled to come up with alternative interpretations, as is still happening today”.

Sometimes the best way to find out something is to ask.
Sure, but I’ve already read a few posts on this very forum not asking, but complaining that the bishops do not care for their flocks and the Sacraments because they have “cancelled” Mass.

Yes, I agree there have, unfortunately, those who saw the closing of the Churches that way.

Why do you believe what you apparently believe?

I mean, really.
And what is it you assume that I believe that you disagree with?

Beware, keep alert ; for you do not know when the time will come.” - Mark 13:33

We should beware and keep alert, just as Christ said. Do you not believe?

I don’t think anyone here disagrees with this.

I didn’t see any evidence given that the idol which is referred to as “Pachamama”, even the Pope referred to it as such, is actually a representation of Our Blessed Virgin Mary. Out of all the Blessed Virgin Mary statues of the Catholic Church I have never seen one which Our Blessed Virgin Mary was represented with no clothes. Seems disrespectful.
During the ‘ritual’, it did not seem like they were praying the Rosary.

I don’t see any evidence of this “Pachamama” being Our Blessed Virgin Mary. Regardless if they claim that it is.
In the article, there should have been a link to the video wherein the woman who gives the statue (!!) refers to this statue as, “Our Lady of the Amazon.”
Yes, you presumably do not live in the Amazon but in a Western first-world country with different standards for art and modesty than those living in the Amazon. But it’s a totally different culture.

I wasn’t referring to the OP’s question in that post. I was adding on to what @Tis_Bearself said in regards to another person’s question on why all the fuss between cancelled and suspended.

I do not hold that sentiment.

Oh, sorry, my misunderstanding. In that case, I agree.

You do not, no, nor did I say you did.

I have heard priests say when this is all over, they hope people remember the importance of attendance at Mass and not staying home to watch online.
Many if not most of the streaming Masses will likely end when people are able to attend again in person. And frankly, given that everyone is dispensed, the only people who are going to sit and reverently watch a Mass are those who are really anxious to be back at that Mass in person. I doubt those people are going to say, “Oh well I can just watch a Mass on TV and make a spiritual communion instead of actually receiving Jesus.” The people who would think like that, likely aren’t watching Masses online at all.
