The Holy Kaaba In Mecca. Is Kaaba Mentioned In Bible?

I’ve heard it taught that Bakkah (the ancient name for Mecca) and the valley of Baca are linked and that the Psalm is a reference to a pilgrimage road to Mecca. Admittedly there are some interesting coincidences involved.

Consulting Strong’s Hebrew, “baca” translates to “weeping” and metaphorically references balsam trees that weep precious sap. The etymology of Bakkah is not precisely known, but the most broadly accepted scholarship to my knowledge is that it comes from “bakka” - to crowd, and related to the concept of a narrow place like a valley- rather than “baka” - to have wept. It’s possibly a play on words. Hajar ran between the two hills desperate to find water for her son, who was crying from thirst. Interesting coincidence, if both valleys are related to “weeping” in one way or another. The reference to wells in the Psalm is also interesting because of the Zamzam Well in the valley of Mecca. So, another interesting coincidence.

Personally, I think that the geography and the textual context alone is enough to rule out this being an explicit reference to Mecca and the Kaaba (satellite map of the general area of Jerusalem included below for geographic context, btw, since the question of valleys was mentioned) and I kind of wish certain Islamic teachers would stop using it since it’s not a very convincing argument from an academic standpoint. I do think it might be a metaphorical reference or have a prophetic relationship, at least. Possibly an echoed remembrance of Ibrahim’s time that influenced a place name near Jerusalem.

Just my two cents from what training I have, though, it’s not a subject I’ve researched in great detail. I’m not a fan of Zakir Naik or his brand of debate and exegesis, so my tendency is to be wary when I see his name pop up in relation to something.

When I saw the stone in the KABBA from TV, it reflected light and looked metallic silver.

Have there been any miracles at this site?
The Stone has a protective silver frame now, so that’s the silver portion you saw. The Stone itself is in the center of the encasement and it is indeed black.

Thank you or SHOOKRAN. That was something I didn’t think of googling.

Did you ever wonder why Gabriel told Mary she would give birth of a child of God’s, who would be the Messiah. Yet, same Gabriel told Mohammed, Jesus was a prophet from a virgin birth. How many of your prophets had virgin births?

Akher,
Your Peace be upon Him about Jesus and Adam made it difficult to understand. Adam had no mom or dad. Jesus had Mom and God as Father. St. Joseph is a foster Father.
In our lives, after brainwashing of parents faith, most of us question, Is there a God? We research and stay a believer or NOT!
Is the religion of our parents correct? Or were they brainwashed into believing? So, we check other religions out. We don’t kill our kids for changing. As long as they believe in God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. ONE GOD W THREE PERSONS. Like personalities and function. God the Father thought CREATION! Jesus is the WORD and spoke CREATION. Let there be light, etc. the HOLY SPIRIT is the power or strength of God and worked out CREATION. All one God. JFYI.
Sharia law was in Deuteronomy and it is Rumored that Mohammed took Sharia from the Jews. Now, many centuries ago, the Jew voted against Sharia. It was considered to be a tribal custom and not taught by God. Jesus came w forgiveness and mercy and judgement. We are to love our enemy! That’s not in Koran.
Read: SON OF HAMASS. Tribal traditions can be sinful. Beastiality, sex w young boys, homosexuality, alcohol, infidelity. Rape.
The Koran doesn’t condone these behaviors but these behaviors still continue. Either men give other men a break and punish girls and/or Islam w all it’s stoning, etc is not a strong religion.
PPL have small sects, hidden in society w beastiality, homosexuality, adultery and fornication. They are worldly, bad Christians and Atheists (bad ppl-whatever name they carry). The Koran decrees a ritual bath for this sin or that sin. Some of those sins are so bad, there is not enough water in all the world to wash them away.
May God’s love reach out to us all. May He open all our eyes to truth. In Jesus’s name.

If you look at the psalm as a whole, the equivocation of Mecca to the Valley of Baka doesn’t really fit. The psalm is stated to be a psalm of the Korahites, that is, the descendants of Kora who worked in auxiliary positions (porters, bakers of the bread of offerings, etc.) as seen in the first book of Chronicles. Psalm 84, therefore is speaking of the Temple of Jerusalem, as those workers of the Temple would recognize only the Temple as the House of God. Beqaa Valley, as it is known today, is a valley in what is now Lebanon, but once resided within Solomon’s Empire. It is indeed a place of springs and rivers and traversing it would allow Jewish pilgrims to avoid the Lebanese desert on their tri-annual pilgrimages to Jerusalem.

No. And why should we care? All these religions that came after Christianity will and always have twisted words and changed the words meanings to justify their own beliefs. You quote from the Quran but that means nothing to us because its not Holy Scripture.

Islam has NOTHING to do with the Bible. It’s anti-Christ and evil. The Kabaa was originally filled with pagan idols. The black stone is the one Muhammad used to worship before he created his own religion.
