Hello,

This question is primarily for people who voted for Trump and now want Kathy Griffin to lose her sources of income.
  1. Trump said a lot of nasty things on the campaign trail including mimicking a reporters speech impediment. If you voted for him anyway then why do you want to ruin Miss Griffin’s life?
  2. Trump used the incident to promote his victim status. After the statements he made on the campaign trail should he still have a right to promote his victim status?

Kathy Griffin’s troubles are of her own doing. She thought that the left would back her up and they didn’t. You must really have a perverse sense of right and wrong to think that a person could pose with a mock up of the bloodied, severed head of the president of the United States and be immune to any repercussions. She made her bed and now she has to sleep in it.

I didn’t vote for either major party candidate, but Ms Griffin crossed a line and how has to pay the price. Trump didn’t destroy her, as she claims. She destroyed herself. She’s gotten good coaching from Mrs. Clinton about how to blame everyone but herself.

He didn’t do that. First, it was not a speech impediment… Second, he fluttered his hands to mimic someone who was flustered. He did the same thing when talking about other flustered people. Third, the reporter’s disability was an inability to move his hand out of a curled-in position, nothing at all like what Trump did. Fourth, Trump had met the reporter once or twice fifteen years before and remembered nothing about him.

Yes, because rhe entire incident was mischaracterized to his detriment.

Complex question fallacy.

I didn’t vote for Trump but Kathy Griffin created her own situation by stepping over a line that I would hope everyone, Trump supporters or not, would find alarming and despicable.

Who fired her? Trump? No her employer(s).

As far as things said on campaign trails and personal faults of President," if you Oh Lord kept a record of sins who could stand?"

Mary.

That’s incorrect.

Serge Kovaleski covered the Trump beat extensively while working for the Daily News for six years and interviewed The Donald at least a dozen times.
They spent an entire day together for one feature story he wrote about the launch of the Trump Shuttle airline.

If Trump didn’t remember anything about the reporter and how he looked/moved and his disability, why did he say: “…the poor guy, you ought to see this guy…,” when he mocked him physically?

.
Gee this thread is going to turn into a dispute over what Trump did and not Kathy Griffin’s actions? Her actions are OK because of what Trump said on the campaign trail? Seriously?

Good grief.

The issue here is Griffin’s intent. Trump was voted in as President but the juvenile never trumpers will not get to the point where they will accept Trump. While I didn’t vote for Obama, I would never condone an attack the was on Obama that was based on a racial basis.

I do believe that Trump is on the right path if he can just stop tweeting. I recognize in ham a fighter personality. He doesn’t give up and will respond to a perceived personal attack. We never really got of Obama take his gloves off. The main stream media always had his back plus they rallied f or him even when he attack some of the ordinary citizens. Remember his rant about the religious minded citizens huddled with their bibles and guns. I don’t think that he was interested in protecting the freedom of religion.

Griffin intent was excoriate Trump and when the left never came to her aid, then she thought about apology. I don’t think that was intent with at all. If someone on the right pulled this stunt on Obama there would much more outrage against the person on the right.

Personally I am against the main stream media plus the people who piled on until the MSM became outraged.

Where are you getting that info from?
That “she thought ‘the left’ would back her up”? Did she say this?

Unfortunately, she was taking Trump’s own quote about Megyn Kelly too far, as political comedians sometimes do and get into trouble for.

Trump said of Kelly, "You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes…blood coming out of her…wherever."

In the Griffin photo, the blood is coming out of the mask’s eyes.

.
Yes, I am happy to see you note that she took a quote too far. I am amazed at the lack of what seems to be an horror and disgust over her actions. She certainly must have thought that she would not be penalized for this?

Why do you think she would think there would be no repercussions to her actions?

Mary.

I think she was promoting violence. I’m sure the families of the people who actually did get beheaded didn’t find anything funny about it. The way this world is today, she should have known better. So now she’s crying about it…being “bullied” hahaha… Now that’s funny 😂

ALOT of nasty things were said in the campaign, by Trump and many others. Who is Kathy Griffin to single out one? I don’t want to ruin her life, but she has to take responsibility for what she and own the consequences. EXCUSE ME BUT PRESIDENT TRUMP IS THE VICTIM HERE. Did he put a picture of himself holding HER bloody head up on the internet? If he had the out cry would be much, much worse and rightly so. It was a tasteless, insensitive, cruel and irresponsible thing for Kathy Griffin to do and now she has to take what is coming to her. I don’t feel the least bit sorry for her; it was her idea to do it. She is sick and needs help to find out why she thought doing some like that would be funny to the rest of the world.

If Trump was anywhere near as bad as his detractors claim, they would be too terrified to try stunts like this. Oh, the irony.

Griffin caused her won troubles and can’t handle the consequences. What she did was unbelievable. And if you would take a good look at the tapes, Trump was not mimicking anyone. You choose to believe what you want and that’s exactly what the fake media wants you to believe! God Bless, Memaw

People defending the indefensible. Kathy has MADE A LIVING out of ridiculing and bullying people. And now she call foul? “he broke me?” She can’t be serious.
Stepped one letter grade down from the D list in my book.

I think I’ve seen it all.

Kathy Griffin in receiving the 2007 Emmy Award said that she got the award on her own and denounced Jesus. I wasn’t a fan of hers before that and will never be.

What she did crossed a line. Trump has also crossed many lines. But Trump’s actions and her actions are independent of each other; neither excuses or justifies the other one. Her “he broke me” moment was just silly. She deserved to be fired.

True. I’m sure her Catholic mom is mortified. She did a bit about her mom wanting a hymn to Our Lady sung at her funeral and really ridiculed the faith at that time as well.
People decry bullying among children and certain segments of society, but it’s open season on others. We’ve really got to pray for our country.
😦

This works for me. I would like to see her keep at least one gig, just to see if anyone goes. It’s not like she was packing stadiums with audiences…

And she’s no victim.

What was so bad about her action was that she not only mocked the office of the POTUS, but also the beheading of the victims of radical terrorists. No respect shown for them either. Now, after apologizing, she is blaming the victim for the backlash. Just like children do. She needs to grow up.
