Bishop Barron’s piece is crucial, because he ties this into historical context, and what is a flight from reason in the media and academia, by the Left. I think we are only a few years away from people on the Left (privately) justifying not only the actual violent elimination of the Trumps, but even the Griffins. (from Commenter)
The people on the Left are correct. Some people on the Right are indeed hostile, irrational, ready to use people as stepping stones for their agenda. Some attacks on Obama or Clinton are disgusting.
But people on the Right don’t have a lot of power in this country. People on the Left control the great majority of the media, almost all higher education, and much else, especially in health care and human services. Most billionaires who are politically active appear to be on the Left. Large corporations are no longer competing against Big Government, they want in on government contracts.
But if you know anything about Bishop Barron, he definitely is not on the Left, or the Right, in terms of public positions. He has a long history in the public eye. That’s why I cited that excerpt.
