NO, this is not Catholicism.

Nicaraguan law is not in line with Catholic Church teaching. Simply stated, the Church teaches against *direct *abortion. There are some mother’s life-saving procedures, morally permissible for Catholics, that will result in the death of an unborn baby. You might call it indirect abortion and it has been discussed at length in the Moral Theology forum.
Well that is more or less what Mormonism teaches. The terminology used may be different, but it amounts to the same thing. So what is the problem?

What does mormonism have to do with this? Abortion laws in Rome is more lax than what mormons are teaching. Abortion on demand up to the 3rd month. And after that, only under medical emergencies.

That is not remotely what Mormonism teaches.

Mormonism teaches that abortion is permitted:
  1. In cases of rape or incest (somebody sinned so kill the baby).
  2. To protect the life or good health - including mental health - of the mother (mom is depressed so kill the baby)
  3. If the baby has life-threatening physical defects (baby is not perfect so kill the baby)
  4. If the mother prays and gets permission from the Holy Ghost (mom has a burning in the bosom so kill the baby)
Except for #4, these are exactly the criteria used by NARAL and Planned Parenthood, the champions of abortion.

Mormons are the new pro-aborts.

That was a matter of warfare, not abortion. Let’s stay on topic.
just pointing out the fact that in the bible infants were murdered in the name of god for the sins of their fathers.

now about the topic, you are the one that supports its divertion into mormonism.

first take off the plank in your own eye. abortion is legal in rome.

But if both of them are going to die, which is better, to let both of them die, or save one of them and let the other die? If two people are drowning, and you are only able to save one of them, which is better, to save one, or do nothing and let both die?

To make this analogy work, the second person has to be holding onto the first person who you are trying to save. Then you have to beat/butcher the second person to get him to let go so you can save the first person (mother).

This, friend, is murder, regardless of whether that person was destined to die in 10 seconds anyway.

So you believe it is right to hang the mother no matter what. Congratulations!

Probably not many. It will still be carried out in secret in dangerous circumstances. But that is not the issue. The issue is, Do you genuinely believe that is is right to kill the mother and the baby, when it is possible to let the baby die and save the mother? Is that what the Catholic Church teaches?

zerinus
I have not seen any Catholic teachings instructing the killing of the mother and the baby.

Likewise, induced abortion is not the same as “spontaneous abortion” or miscarriage. The abortion practicioner is not “letting the baby die”. That would imply that he is very bad at his craft indeed. No, he is actively doing his best to kill the baby.

abortion is legal in rome.
So what? Italy is a secular nation just like the U.S. and Rome is a secular city. It is not controlled by the Catholic Church, despite what some may think. You know, I’m sure, that the Vatican is an independent nation, and not a part of Rome or Italy, right?

It is not okay to kill deformed or not perfect babies in the womb of their own mothers. It is not okay to decide you want a boy and kill a girl. It is not okay to decide that because the baby has spina bifida it is okay to kill it. It is not okay to kill a downs baby. These babies are people too. I work with these babies they are special and loved. They deserve a life. I know life as the parent of a special needs child is not easy as I live it every day but that is no excuse to kill your child. Even if my son only had a few days to live I would want him to have those few days to live rather than dismembering him inside my own body. Even if he had 0% chance of surviving I would keep him alive as long as I could cherishing every kick that made me want to pee until they stopped. I DO NOT approve of killing children who are not up to their parents standards and I am proud to be a part of a church that will back me up with solid religious teachings.

It is also immoral to save her life by the deliberate killing of a third party.
a moral dilemma. a choice between two evils: the evil of letting both die or the evil of aborting the fetus or embryo. this one is easy. save the woman, if thats what she is pleading for.

theoretically: if she is the last female on earth, nature wont have it any other way. the species must survive.

Species die off all the time and theoretically it could of only happened to Eve
