This is primarily to see if anyone can beat my personal record for long songs, and especially what I’ve got on my iPod. 😃

As per the title, what’s the longest single song you enjoy listening to?

Being a progressive rock musician, my personal favourite is Mike Oldfield’s Amarok, which is an hour long.
Idk if anyone has posted this one but time stops by explosions in the sky.

Best song. Everrrrrrrrrr

I love The Forrest Gump Suite, is over 8 minutes.

10,000 Miles by Mary Chapin Carpenter and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart by Al Green are other favorites. They’re like over 6 minutes. Does that count as long?

Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac - The Green Manalishi 15 min.

This is so interesting to me. When I have time tomorrow, I’m going through all responses. As for me, I can’t pick just one. Sniper, Better Place to Be andThere Only Was One Choice by Harry Chapin, and Roads to Moscow and Somewhere in England 1915 by Al Srewart. All unbelievable songs! 😃

Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts - Bob Dylan 8:51
Visions of Johanna - Bob Dylan 7:33

There are two long songs I enjoy listening to. One is the famous “American Pie” sung by Don McLean. He still performs it around the country, often sharing the bill with another legendary folk singer, Judy Collins. The other is Bob Dylan’s “Rosemary, Lily, and the Jack of Hearts,” preferably sung by Joan Baez.

I heard Don perform American Pie a number of years ago. It is BETTER now, thanks to a wonderful extended piano piece before the last verse. “Queen and the Soldier” by Suzanne Vega is another awesome long song. 👍
