In 1981 a Moslem gunman, Ali Agca, shot Pope John Paul II multiple times, nearly killing the Pope. After this, in 1983, the pope visited the gunman in prison and forgave him. During the many years Ali Agca spent in prison, until 2010, he converted to Christianity, and now, on December 27, 2014, he has come in a surprise visit to lay white roses at the late Pope’s tomb, now officially declared a saint.

What a great example Pope John Paul II gave the world, and what a great story concerning Ali Agca’s conversion.

He was heard mumbling, “A thousand thanks, saint” and," Long live Jesus Christ."
