Well, we seem to be entering the 21st century with homosexual marriage accepted, homosexual adoption accepted, and Catholic Adoption services under fire for not adopting out to homosexual pairs.

Perhaps it will come to pass that acceptence of this shall be considered the Mark of the Beast, and Catholics (among others) will suffer for NOT accepting the mark of the Beast?🤷

My sister read something (source unknown) which stated that rampant “consumerism” might also be considered “the mark of the beast”. She read that there was talk of implanting some sort of “chip” into the foreheads of people… in the future, to make it easier to scan their purchases and avoid ID fraud.

Not on MY forehead, no sirree.

I’d gladly suffer for not accepting this mark. Actually, I pray I WILL suffer for not accepting this mark if that is what God desires!

Well, in the Old Testament scriptures, the hand signified a man’s work or deeds, and his forehead stood for what he was brazenly all about. That’s why Mose’s told the people to wear the Law of God around their hand and on their forehead.

I don’t believe that the Mark of the Beast is some
silly computer chip which merely has 666 embedded into it somewhere. I believe the OP of this thread is very close to the truth. People who take the mark of the beast are people who live and act according to (and condone the things of)
the Spirit of Satan, which is disobedience to God’s Law and
persistence in that disobedience.
That is why a Great Apostasy comes immediately before
the Day of the Lord. I believe we are seeing that now in the explosion of Liberal theology and politics and their aggressive, defiant rejection of Scriptural morals.

Hi Jay 👋 I agree with your well worded feelings on disobedience to God, in lifestyles, and degrading morality, etc. Disobedience to God’s Commandments, is certainly a “mark of the beast”. Thank you for reminding us.

But the idea of biometric scanning is not all that far fetched. And in fact, (from what I’ve read) is being rapidly developed. This seems to be in line with what my sister heard, and told me (above). They’re now scanning everything from facial features… to fingerprints… to your retina’s… for “identification” purposes.

With todays “progressive” mindset… it would be a subtle tactic for the enemy to use, that’s for sure. I bet a lot of people never thought that movies or television would turn out to be such a source of evil, either. Just a thought 🤷

(P.S. Harry, sorry if I took your thread off the topic. The title was somewhat “generic”… so I didn’t think you’d mind a related idea. God bless).

It seems to me that people who do not go along with the “status quo” can be branded as such and prevented from buying and selling, and this information would be available by scanning some sort of ID.

I believe the Jews were subjected to similar sanctions before the Holocaust. In this case, the mark would be something like the stamps or bracelets we get at the amusement parks to let us onto the rides or back into the park. We would have to pledge some loyalty to whomever in order to receive the favors.

It is an intriguing concept that was brought up about the hands and forehead representing one’s work and beliefs and sounds much more logical from a Biblical standpoint.

I fear we may someday have to hide our opposition to the accepted norms or face persecution or annihilation. I am brought back to what my SIL told my friend Panama was like under Noriega. Anyone showing even an inch of white (the color of the opposition), could be shot on sight. This even included baby diapers!

I read somewhere, might have been Mark Mallet`s blog, that the mark of the beast would be either on the forehead or on ones hand.

This article does not deal with the mark specifically but other things one should be aware of such as things that will have after the great illumination or great warning as it is also called when we are made aware of our sins.

Whatever the mark is remember we were marked at our baptism and our Master asks us to follow him so this is what avoiding the mark of the beast entails.
*Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you… Watch at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand before the Son of man. (John 15:20; Luke 21:36)

In Biblical times, you would indicate that you were someone’s slave/servant by wearing your master’s mark on your forehead or on your right arm (right side or right hand in Greek.) So we’re talking about something that is a visible sign that shows “who you belong to”, which could be your membership in a particular political or religious group.

A perfect example of this in use today is the “Bismallah”, which is the Islamic prayer written on the headbands (on the forehead) or on the armbands (on the right side) of Islamic fighters. It’s not something that a Christian or a Jew would willingly wear, and there are reports from Gaza of Muslim shop owners not doing business with people who don’t wear the Bismallah, since that’s the only way they know that it’s someone “safe” to do business with. (Not being allowed to buy or sell without the mark.)

** I suppose that Christians (including Catholics and pop-evangelicals) accepting repeated divorce and remarriage for heterosexuals, even supported by civil law, not to be nearly as bad, huh?**

Not even close. Homosexuality is an abomination not only to God but to natural law. There are times when marriages are annulled for very valid reasons. For a wife to leave an abusive and possibly murderous husband does not compare in the least to a man willingly having sex with another man (or woman/woman). There are no extenuanting or mitigating circumstances for homosexuality as there can be for divorce.

When I was a teen (and a part of the reason I put off getting confirmed) a certain Fundamentalist friend brought me to her church and I became involved with their vacation bible school.

The hosts of our class told us that the “mark” was the permanent seal that was put on Catholic souls in the confirmation “ceremony” where Catholics dedicate their lives – unknowingly – to Satan.

Very Jack Chick.

It scared me so badly that I started to believe all the propaganda against the Church…it took a while, but I’m home now.

Where did you ever get the idea that the Catholic Church supported Divorce:confused: much less repeated divorce and re-marriage? Protestant Churches, sure, since King Henry VIII.😦

A spiritual mark:

Tertullian said the devil plagiarizes the sacraments.

The false prophet has two horns, “like a Lamb”, who has seven.

There are seven sacraments. Heretics only have two, Baptism and Marriage.

The supreme lie of the dragon and of the spirit of antichrist are summarized in the mockery of these two.

the first horn of the false prophet mocks the first sacrament had by heretics: Baptism.

Anti-Baptism means, who cares about faith or repentance, the necessary conditions of Baptism. Believe whatever the heck you want, and live however you want, without regard to any Divine Truth.

the second horn of the false prophet mocks the second sacrament had by heretics, Marriage.

Marriage is the supreme sacramental sign that points us to our ultimate destiny, “marraige with God”. It demonstrates in the supreme sense, that all of Creation is only a sign and a means to the end of God Himself.

When one forgets God, the Creation is no longer a sign to God, but the final end, replacing God, hence, secular messianism and materliasm. Therefore, the Whore of Babylon symbolizes secular messianism.

Hence, the lie that the Creation alone, divorced from its Sacramental context, can fulfill and sustain humanity in peace and prosperity is lie of the second horn of the false prophet, the Whore, anti-Marriage.

These would make the adequate basis for the meaning of the mark of the beast: in the forehead, they determine truth themselves, utterly independent of God.

In the hand, they do their works, the works of sin, and they “fashion or make” their own happiness using the things of this world, divorced from the their sacramental meaning, and taken as the final end that replaces God, materialism.

According to Fr. Michael Fallon MSC (Missionary of The Sacred Heart) - Australian author and lecturer of some renown - in his book “The Apocalypse - a revelation that history is Graced**” on :

Revelation Ch20 V4 “They had not worshipped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or hands”

Fr. Michael states in the above book (not online - I have a copy here) P153:
" - “the mark on their foreheads” the meanings and values that determined their lives were not those of the (Roman) Empire…“or hands” : - their actions too did not flow from enslavement to Rome".
Since Scripture speaks to every age and every time and mileu, society, this could be taken to also mean wordly values and actions determined by enslavement to wordly values, rather than The Gospel.

Father Michael’s book bears the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur. It takes a verse or a few verses from Revelations and then explains them from a Catholic priest and scripture scholar’s point of view.

I can certainly understand why this would frighten you, “Mis”. Gives me chills, just reading it. But of course, that was the intent… to frighten people (I’m glad you’ve realized it). It makes absolutely no sense. If this were true… then all of the thousands and thousands (millions?) of Catholic saints who died or were martyred for the faith, died for nothing?

And all of the millions who have given and consecrated their lives to Christ, through the Catholic Priesthood, Religious Orders, Missions and Sacraments. Are their sacrifices, work and prayers, meaningless?

I don’t think so, nope. The Catholic Church has stood the test of time, just as Our dear Lord promised.

“… upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18)

The kind of “chaos” described above, would completely contradict Our Lords Promise. The Catholic Church existed from His institution… as it will, to the end of time. This just goes to show how poorly understood the Catholic Church is… by some people. And how easily the enemy uses these poor souls, to spread its lies. God bless.

Idk what protestants ur talking about, but idk any who think of marriage as a sacrament, except for some anglicans, the same type who believe in seven.

When I was a baptist, the two “GOSPEL ORDINANCES” (bc it just rolls off the tongue so much more smoothly that “sacrament,” plus the preacher sounded more intelligent and didnt run the risk of offending anyones anti-catholic sensibilities) were baptism and the Lord’s Supper (which involved crackers and grape juice and about ten minutes of being told to feel really guilty bc if you didn’t and ate said crackers and grape juice, you “eateth and drinketh damnation unto thineself”).

I go far afield. Sorry. :o

It just goes to show how little most evangelicals actually know about anything to do with faith. They go only by the Bible. Well it says in the Bible that no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. It was enough to for me to be a bit more “ecumenical” minded. That sort ecumenism led me right to the Church.

I read that the Mark of the Beast was a mark put on all the followers of the Roman emperor, Nero. Apparently it was some kind of mark put on their forehead. I can’t find a source for this but if I come across one, I’ll let you know.
