The missing years of jesus

I have been told that there is a big chunk of the life of jesus that is “missing”, from between his early teens to just before he died, (and his death****** is something i want to ask about later. Did he go to India? Are there buddhist, islamic, and hindu texts that point to this… fact or fiction???

the scripture says nothing about supposed wanderings before his mission started.If he did wander why? Was he going to gain some esoteric knowledge from India China Tibet or wherever? When Jesus was lost and found in the temple he was debating the elders.Then it says he was obedient.Obedient could mean obedience in studying Torah.AS a religious Jew that would have been his main priority.There would be no possible reason Jesus would have gone a roaming,It would serve no purpose. The apostles had a purpose- to evangelize.Jesus would not have been just a tourist.-he would have evangelized-no evidence on that anywhere.

Scripture says nothing about his wanderings nor about anything he may have done in the lost years hence the title “lost years”. Why do you assume he would have evangelized? He could have been evangelizing from 12 on but he didn’t. As he said, it wasn’t his time which he told his mother at the marriage at Cana just before he did start evangelizing. So to my mind he wouldn’t have been evangelizing anywhere whether at home or elsewhere.

Maybe Jesus wasn’t just roaming. We know nothing of the circumstances after St. Joseph died but we must assume Jesus had to support his mother. He could have used his carpentry skills anywhere including being a ship’s carpenter for Joseph of Arimathea. English tradition has many stories about Joseph of Arimathea who apparently visited there before and after Christ’s death.

First .we are in Sacred Sripture-not Sacred Legend.What the Scripture states ,and it is very little,is what we should go by.All this “legendary” travels of Jesus .
“And Jesus advanced (in) wisdom and age and favor before God and man.” is all the Gospels say.period.To advance folkloric tales into something more is silly. There are hundreds of legends about Jesus being all over the place in the “missing” years " India, Tibet, Japan,North American, etc.are they all true? or only the ones with England are true? And again to what purpose would be all this travelling.? If not evangelizing then what?-tourism? exploitation of the natives? Import /export , mining,? Just take them for what they -nice little folkloric stories and nothing more.

You ask to what purpose would be all this traveling. I’m assuming if he did travel with Joseph it was for work and for the adventure. He was a man leading a man’s life. What was his purpose of staying home as you assume? Jesus advance in wisdom and age and favor before God and man. And was obedient to his parents. There is nothing in those statements that leaves me to assume he was forbidden to travel.

We have no way of knowing. If he stayed home, fine. If he traveled even to Alexandria, fine what does it change?

There is nothing in Scripture nor in Church tradition to hint that Jesus travelled outside to other countries other than Egypt. It should therefore be left at that otherwise it is sheer unfounded speculation or thinking that the traditions of false religions about his travel might have some merit. They don’t.
