Dear, Baptism is our “circumcision,” the Mass is our “Passover.” And fulfilling the law is not getting rid of it. Where did you come up with that? One more thing, how was what dbacks5439 lacking good fruit?
no quotation marks. if you speak of keeping the Law, the the circumcision and Passover are the actual ones required in Mosaic law. SO you cant have it both ways, you are either a legalist or a Christian. Fulfilling the Law is absolutely getting rid of its observance. I really wish you would read St. Paul, especially Romans. It is all quite clear there. Why you choose to argue for observance of the Law yet arent a Jew is a mystery to me.

We should be joyous that a woman left the Church Jesus Christ established after reading a book not written by Jesus Christ? That is called apostasy, what she has done and what appears to be the direction you’re going. No true Christian rejoices in another’s sin, even if it makes them feel good. Either the Church, established by Jesus, is being continued by the Holy Ghost or Jesus is a liar. You decide.
Book not witeren by Christ? Wasnt she referring to the Bible? I also notice you chose to avoid the quote from PAul. Why?

What a surprise, Joel! Once again, you throw out an accusation, a very degrading accusation (how Christian!) without backing it up. Of course, *you *know the meaning of the Bible better than the ones that God Himself inspired to put it together in the first place. It is your understanding that has no depth, as the your main response is “your wrong.” You need to change your profile from “Catholic” to “What I Say Goes.”
Who’s Joel? I continue to back up what I say, what do you do? This is now pointless.

And if you would read the New Testament in light of what the Early Church Fathers believed, you would NOT leave the Church- as that is the only way to salvation. Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus.
Only way to salvation? Read the Hebrew bible and you will find that your statment is not correct.

My salvation comes from the Almighty. What is the salvation for Jews?

Our salvation is our redemption for this present exile we are in. When our blessed Beis HaMidash will stand once again - Our salvation - our Rock - and there is only one Rock

Deuteronomy 32:31
For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

Psalm 62:6
He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

1 Samuel 2:2
There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

Sorry to burst you bubble, but you were led out of the Church by the “angel of light.” That doesn’t mean you’re insincere, but you’re sincerely wrong. Had you known what the Church actually teaches, the chances of you being deceived would’ve been greatly diminished.
This is too much.

So you were raised Protestant? The Christian group with a “to each his own” theology? No wonder you left. Yes, you could say the same back at us, but as the topic does revolve around Christianity, this certainly wouldn’t be the thread to do it in.
I am really starting to find your blanket statements as above troublesome. You reveal yourself in your statements, as once again I say, a tree is known by its fruit. You seem to want to do nothing more than attack and put down. If I were you, I attend more to the beam in your own eye than the speck in others.

a rather presumptuous statement, don’t you think? What if Agnos. started killing Jews? still heavenbound?
How does your logic even work to come up with a statement like that based on what was originally posted? You are doing quite a job of representing Catholicism…NOT. Im not surprised though, as your screename indicates you are one the type who values language over substance…

No matter…you are the one who has to live with yourself and answer to God. As for me, I will let you argue with yourself, and will no longer respond to your posts which are nothing but inflammatory. I have my peace and union with God, not you or your ilk will rob me of it. Those who you try to denegrate, they too would be wise to have their leave of discussions with you.

If that’s the case, why was Jesus circumcised? Why did He need to die the horrid death on the cross? He came to fulfill the law, as He says, not to abolish it, as you say. If he didn’t do away with a particular law then it’s common sense to assume that it didn’t need to change.

Read your Bible a little more closely, where does Jesus tell anybody to record anything on paper? I do recall him saying that “and if he [the obstinate sinner] will not hear the church: let him be to thee as the heathen and publican.” In fact, where is it anywhere in the New Testament (or Old for that matter) that we’re to follow only a book, that was put together by the Catholic Church, might I add.

Since you brought up Romans, try chapter 16:
Now I beseech you, brethren, to mark them who make dissensions and offences contrary to the doctrine which you have learned and avoid them.

“You despised not, nor rejected: but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.” St. Paul, (Galatians). You can’t pick and choose.

I have not posted one thing that I haven’t backed up, unlike you.

Joel is a man that believed the Bible only, yet his only argument (which until recently has been your main one) was “your wrong.”

Am I then become your enemy, because I tell you the truth.
St. Paul. If you don’t like it, take it up with the Holy Ghost.

Well, aren’t you the martyr? You’re right, your decision is between you and God, but God did inspire St. Paul to write that those who oppose the Church are to be cast out.

BTW, the Pope prefers the Latin Liturgy. And if you knew anything about the Latin Mass, you would know that there are more differences than the language. Respond or don’t. You’ve made it clear you’re not Catholic.

exactly…youre the one that downplayed the Bible, not me. You cant even follow your own rhetoric.

Oh, so then basically, you are reverting to namecalling? What a testimony!

If you represent Catholicism, then praise God in your statement that I am not one! I like how you pick only small bits of Paul out of context, but avoid the other points already mentioned.

Feelings are not a very good indication of the ‘truth’ of a position. God bless, but ‘feeling a peace’ does not mean that you’ve seen the light. The devil, as you know, can disguise himself as an angel of light. .
TE,
Common incorrect Catholic stereotyping of born agains, YES satan can duplicate feelings and emotions, but what many born agains discover is not a feeling its a KNOWledge!

And yes just as in pious sacramental practices that make one feel holy, ONE NEEDS to evaluate their situation by the fruit…SATAN can’t duplicate the fruit.

It sounds to me thecoach has recieved that peace and knowledge that surpasses all human understanding. TC my heart leaps for JOY for you.
Have a great day and gear it to Matt 6:33

The Devil may give false visions or revelations-Magdalen of the Cross , it all came true–ecstasies, levitation, prophecies, simulated stigmata. At door of death she confessed. Exorcism was needed.

This thread is getting ugly… and sad.

I fully agree with the point being made that subjective feeling is of itself no guarantee of a genuine connection to God, but I do not think we should be jumping to attribute someone’s leaving the Catholic faith to diabolical influence.

Rather, I believe we Catholics should be all the more grateful to the gift of faith that God has given us that permits us to be open to the graces available through the sacraments and the teachings of the Church. Let us not take that gift of faith for granted.

Peace
