Wrong! Christianity is apostate, and Mormonism is the only true Christian Church on earth, with its full divine authority restored in its original pristine condition.

zerinus
That’s not what you said. You said “Christianity is apostate. Mormonism is true.”

You clearly are making the distinction here that Christianity and Mormonism are two separate entities. And like I said, I admire you for admitting that Mormonism is not Christian.

zerinus is back. For those of you who don’t know him, he is of the “nyah nyah nyah” school of mormon apologetics, also known as the “tis so, taint so” school. As I understand it though, there has been a lot less “burning in the bosom” since Nexium hit the market. I don’t know how this affects the validity of one’s testimony, but it couldn’t hurt.😃

Not correct. See my above post. What I meant was that Historical Christianity is apostate, and Mormonism is the only true form of Chrisltianity there is. Got it this time, smart guy?

Nice dodging. Are you SURE you’re not a Scientologist? They take coures on how to deflect things and avoid real answers…

Freudian slip, or whatever it may have been, the delineation between Christianity and Mormonism was accurate the first time.

Wishful thinking. I decide what I mean by what I say, you don’t.

Your intelligence always was of the same caliber as your namesake. I can see that nothing has changed!

zerinus
Zerinus, if you are of the “true Christian church,” then surely you are aware that Christ would not approve of you speaking in this way to others.

Him and I have had a long history of interactions. However, if my post comes over as offensive, I sincerely apologize.

Oh, don’t be too hard on Zerinus, he can’t help it. He’s been skunked so many times on these forums that he doesn’t even get a burning bosom anymore. The burning has moved lower and nothing seems to help. False religion, false doctrine and a false prophet Zerinus. There it is, live with it.😃

If you can’t “do” apologetics as a blackbelt (and I can’t- green belt maybe, but that’s taken awhile), I would ignore zerinus. He’s out to get your goat more than your soul. I’d just say a nice Hail Mary for him, and ignore him.

The other thing about “the mormon” boys: Unless their momma taught them, they don’t know diddly about shopping. And they seem to have to get their own groceries, at least around here. I had a couple in the Aldi awhile back, buying the house brand bacon, which shrinks into bacon bits before one’s eyes. I steered them away from that, and I think scared them by suggesting they buy ham and slice it to fry with eggs instead.

The crux of the matter: These missionaries carry the title “elder” and are very sure that if they follow what amounts to a formuliac marketing plan, they will get your soul into the ward house on Sunday morning, and eventually into the baptismal tank.

They are kids. Most of them are 19 or 20 years old. I am surprised some of them shave. They are away from home, more so than if they got in a year of college. Their job is very demanding, and they work very long hours for kids. They get sick easily.

The majority of them can be gotten off-track very easily. And kindness, asking odd but thoughty questions, and changing the subject do it.

So, you are denying you are LDS or just embarrassed by these very real beliefs within Mormonism?
You can win people to your side more easily by gentle persuasion and flattery than by hostile confrontation.

You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, no? Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I’m genuinely interested in why Mormons are not willing to talk about Kolob or spirit babies when they come to tell us our Church is apostate, not necessarily interested in “winning” anyone to my side. I think that if someone is going to come to a Catholic forum and tell us we are going to hell for belonging to an “apostate” Church, they should be willing to open up their own beliefs to scrutiny.
