The most important thing Jesus revealed about the end times...?

I think Jesus revealed that he wouldn’t come again until the far distant future. He said something to the effect of** “When the son of man comes again, will he find any faith at all?”**. If I am not mistaken. I apologize deeply if I am. This would seem to indicate, that the second coming won’t arrive unfortunately for many generations.

In the future, religion will be a relic as Greek mythology is now. I’m talking in about five generations for the EU and Americas. I make this assumption because every generation, in general, seems to be less religious unfortunately. Pat Buccannon writes about this in his article describing Pope Benedict called “A godly man in an ungodly age”. You should all read this article. Google it, it’s very good.

I really believe he will arrive again when Christianity no longer exists, in a post-religious age. I would like to see the second coming, but I really don’t see how it can occur if faith exists given what Jesus said. He clearly seemed to state that it wouldn’t occur until there wasn’t a lot of faith. One can say that the book of revelation points to persecution of Christians so there may be some faith however. I really take this to believe however, that it will only occur in 5 generations minimum.
 
Over the past 2,000 years, the “end times” has come with each individual’s last breath. Thus, we are to “watch.” Still, I keep an eye on the sky lately.

I humbly disagree. Despite what the way of modern times, I would venture to say that there are more Christians than atheists and agnostics in the world. With the truth of Christianity, it will never be lost to become a relic. It will always be around, because the Holy Spirit will protect it.

How can you claim to be a Catholic and espouse such beliefs. What you are saying is contrary to Catholic teaching.
And Christ’s most important teaching about the end of times is when He said “Only the Father knows…”

There are 1.2 billion Catholics in the world, and 54.4 million in the USA. Baptists come in a far lagging second in the USA, at 15 million. “According to a 2012 graph published by the Pew Research Center (an American Think Tank Organization based in Washington, D.C. that provides Government information on issues, attitudes and trends shaping the United States), people describing themselves as “atheist” represented 2% of the total US population (4)”.

The Catholic Church will last forever and the gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it. The Catholic Church preaches the “truth” , the Greeks did not.
 
I’m not advocating becoming less religious, I’m making a prediction based on a trend. My time line for this “post-religious society” was over 4 or 5 generations remember. This is a very distant prediction. Obviously, with 1.4 B Christians there will be faith for a long time on earth. Hopefully the new Pope can give even faith in general a boost if he is as carismatic as John Paul 2. But as a Catholic, it is important to try to guess what the future holds for the Church based on demographic trends.

As for what Jesus meant in that quote"Will he find faith when he returns". It is anyone’s guess. More research should be done by Theologians in to the meaning of the quote as it seems to be very important. I know that nobody knows the day or hour. But he seemed to be alluding to a world where perhaps Christians would suffer persecutions and the Church would be in decline

. Who knows what ideologies will come to dominate the next 500 years? It just seems that if secularism continues on it’s way in Europe and North America than religion will have a difficult time sadly. I don’t even like secularism and see it as a failure given all of the mass-shootings and poverty in america.
 
The Scriptures point out in numerous places that in the End Times the Church will be persecuted extremely bad. So if there were no faith at all then there would be no Church to be persecuted. Jesus said the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church. There will be a body of believers but when the Antichrist comes there will not be cafeteria Catholics, you will only be Catholic if you are willing to risk your life to do so. To many Catholics today their faith is already like a relic of mythology, but there will be a day when Catholics will no longer ba able to stay in their comfort zone and ride the fence.
