*The chorus of outrage against the Pope has been swelling in recent weeks, and it’s difficult to avoid the sense that this is becoming an orchestrated campaign. Arrogant editorial writers are writing about the Pope’s “mistakes” in reaching out to traditionalists, naming a conservative Austrian priest to become a bishop, and now discouraging reliance on condoms to fight AIDS. A large and growing group of journalists seems determined to spread the word that the Pope is making grievous blunders, and to suppress any evidence to the contrary.

To make matters worse, some of the Pope’s angriest critics claim to be Catholics, and draw their support from Catholic colleges and universities and/or Catholic religious orders. Waving the banners of their Church affiliations, they are working to still the voice of traditional Catholicism.

If ever there was a time to speak out in defense of the Church, and to support those who give voice to Catholic teaching, this is that time. If there was ever a time to pray for the Holy Father, this is it.

IMHO the louder the World’s Secular information services are trying to silence Papa B the more I pray he keeps up telling the would what Catholics are expected to believe and practice.

Keep on keeping on Papa B.

👍👍👍👍👍👍

I agree! Keep it up Pope Benedict!!!

All praise for our Holy Father.

However, I do not think it will be long before the Pope is generally ignotred by the media. At least except for those times when they can twist his words.

Oh!~ Wait! That has already happened. That is the only tme the msainstream media gives him any exposure.

The liable and slander against the Catholic Church is what drew me in. I was raised anti-Catholic but even with my predjudices I knew that the one sided stories repeated by the MSM were grossly unfair. That got me interested in what Catholics realy thought… I started defending the Church… and now I actualy am Catholic! :gopray:

And even without Tradition to guide me I knew, sola scriptura, that Jesus said “Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.”

Basicaly I might not have ever found the Church if it wasn’t for the

It is reserved only to God to bring good out of evil.

You just like living on the edge.

In defense of the Pope, there was this item in the National Review:

Agreeing with Benedict on AIDS & Africa [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

You won’t be surprised to know that I think this writer is right:

I believe most people would agree with the Pope on this issue if they’d read what he actually said.

They’d be even more impressed if they’d read his work—especially his “Interview Trilogy” of The Ratzinger Report, Salt of the Earth, and God and the World; the man’s intellect, education, lucidity, and faith are not only astounding but deeply moving.

Anyone who dismisses the Pope as some fossilized dogmatic isn’t simply doing an injustice to him—they’re robbing themselves of the opportunity to become acquainted with one of the great minds of our age.

As Jesus said, "“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.” Jn 15:18.

I would start to worry when the one’s who murder innocent babies actually praise the Pope!

"Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name."Acts 5:41.

We must pray for Papa Benedictus XVI, successor to Peter and our inspiration.

Pray that he never succumbs to those in our Catholic Church who would have him compromise the Truth of Jesus Christ for the vain praise of sinners!!!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

I’m not worried about this. There have heen far worse periods of hate against the Pope than what has just occured. Someone else quoted the words of Christ already that help me explain what is going on, if they hate me they will hate you too.
If you believe as the secular world believes, they will think you are fine and ignore you.

This world where Satan is running amock HATES the Truth and can’t stand being dragged into the LIGHT-ergo it hates Christ,His Catholic Church and the Servant of the Servants of God,AND you and me.

Those who hate the Truth are becoming emboldened-it is no coincidence that the athiests and their ilk are actively proselytizing in an orchestrated fashion. The world has fallen away from the Truth and has become apostate;our churches are half empty-we are the Remnant, and this Pope is EXACTLY the Pope we need for these times.Don’t be surprised if(when?)he is assassinated.Perhaps and God forbid that it should happen we NEED a Martyr.

Tame or “pet” Christians are ignored by the media as harmless.

The Persecution has begun.

There have been plenty of periods of hate against the Pope, but not such as we’re seeing within the Church herself. This is a sign that things are very bad, indeed. (But a reminder, at the same time, that Christ will have the last word.)

But what the secular world believes is invading the minds of many, many Catholics.

Maybe it is time we go on the offensive and silence the critics by any legal means possible.

I for one wish the critics could be not so much silenced as educated–learning about Pope Benedict, what he believes and does, is a much better indication than some out-of-context sound bites.

Let’s face it, with editing, anyone can be made to sound like a hateful, ignorant goon.

Any knowledge of Benedict will provide a much clearer picture–a man who is very concerned for the well-being of all humanity, not just Catholics. After all, he did say “There are as many ways to God as there are men and women”. I’d rather see energy put into broadcasting that message than trying to silence critics.
