Bill Pick;5432020:
What the Bible has to say==And on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled back from the sepulchre. 3 And going in, they found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it came to pass, as they were astonished in their mind at this, behold, two men stood by them, in shining apparel. 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their countenance towards the ground, they said unto them: Why seek you the living with the dead?
According to Mark 16:1, at the end of that Sabbath the women went to the tomb with perfumed oils to anoint Jesus’ body and found the tomb empty. In Israel the end of the Sabbath is at sunset. Give or take a few minutes for the women to arrive there, I find hard to account for three days and three nights in less than 24 hours.
6 He is not here, but is risen. Remember how he spoke unto you, when he was in Galilee, 7 Saying: The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words.
**The text does not say that Jesus was risen but raised. To be raised he needed an outside agent to do the action. **
Now you say after three days and telling all what is going to go on Our Lord move a very large stone( After being crucified) and just walk away so He was still strong to move a stone. Do You and planten realley think people will believe this garbage,( HERE IS NOT HERE HE HAS RISE) maybe He left Friday, and how may days did He hang on the cross,Being God You may be right.
Now, according to Adrift, this is a personal attack to charge someone of speaking garbage. And I didn’t say after three days. Matthew said three days and three nights. (Mat. 12:40) I said in less than 24 hours. And Jesus did not have to move that very large stone. It was moved from outside by Joseph of Arimathea and his helpers, including Dr. Nicodemus with about 100 pounds of medication to help Joseph with Jesus’ treatment.
And yes, the removal was done in the first hours of Friday night. Joseph would not leave Jesus to die in the tomb. Jesus hanged on the cross for about four hours. And last but not least, he was not God. He was a Jew, and in Judaism there is no such a thing as a man being God. Only in pagan Mythology.
**So much so good, Ben. I have made some of your words extra bold. I personally wanted to know about the recent or very old custom of the Jews to perfume the dead body before burial. Is there such a custom?. Or there used to be any custom in the very old times?. After all, the ladies mentioned who came to perfume the body of Jesus could not be doing something seriously wrong, unless Jesus was alive.
If a dead man (a Jew) is not applied with medicines (Herbs) by the hands of ladies then the ladies (Mostly Mary Magd.) were doing something wrong. Please tell all about the Jewish custom of that time about anointing the dead body. Thanks.**
