I did not say it was false. Ultimately (in terms of relative motions) they are equivalent. Either will work for the purpose of navigating the solar system. The “driver” of a spaceship will end up doing the same things at the same time regardlerss of what he “believes” is moving and what he “believes” is stationary. The relative positions, velocities, and accelerations are the same in both systems. In fact they are simply coordinate transforms of each other.

It’s much easier to visualize periodic elliptical planetary motion around the sun using heliocentric coordinates. Since our historical planetary observations were made from earth, it took us a long time to figure out that the motion was elliptical. And that is my point, a good observation point and a good choice of coordinates would have made life so much easier.

That is a fallacy. The sun moves arouind the earth on daily basis with near circular motion. On an annual basis it can be seen to be actually traveling on the 23.5 deg. elliptic.

The planets orbit the sun with elliptical orbits (earth not a planet).

Makes no difference.
