Doctrines to be Rejected
As a further clarification to the points made in our Statement of Faith, we provide the following list of doctrines to be rejected.
Fellowship cannot be extended to anyone who holds, teaches, fellowships or countenances any of the doctrinal heresies referred to below:
  1. We reject the doctrine - that the Bible is only partly the work of inspiration - or if wholly so, contains errors which inspiration has allowed.
  2. We reject the doctrine - that God is three persons.
  3. We reject the doctrine - that the Son of God was co-eternal with the Father.
  4. We reject the doctrine - that Christ was born with a “free life.”
  5. We reject the doctrine - that Christ’s nature was immaculate.
  6. We reject the doctrine - that the Holy Spirit is a person distinct from the Father.
  7. We reject the doctrine - that man has an immortal soul.
  8. We reject the doctrine - that man consciously exists in death.
  9. We reject the doctrine - that the wicked will suffer eternal torture in hell.
  10. We reject the doctrine - that the righteous will ascend to the kingdoms beyond the skies when they die.
  11. We reject the doctrine - that the devil is a supernatural being.
  12. We reject the doctrine - that the Kingdom of God is “the church.”
  13. We reject the doctrine - that the Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ merely.
  14. We reject the doctrine - that Christ will not come till the close of the thousand years.
  15. We reject the doctrine - that the tribunal of Christ, when he comes, is not for judgment of saints, but merely to divide among them different degrees of reward.

Our faith really cannot be contained in a few forum blogs, you need to read and research so you will come to understand - and I don’t want to plagarise, please just read this book for yourself. It truly will answer your questions about the Catholic faith.

Have we satisfied your question as to why we believe God is Trinity? In summary, just as a child is the maifestation of the love of a man and woman who have become one flesh in marriage - so too, the Holy Spirit is the manifestation of the love of God and Jesus who are one through nature. Just as father, mother and child ARE a family by nature (they are not LIKE a family, they ARE a family) so too are The Father, Son and Holy Spirit a TRINITY by nature.

LOVE = FAMILY
FAMILY = TRINITY
LOVE = TRINITY

We believe God is Trinity because God is Love.

This is exactly what I was talking about. You cannot discuss the interpretations of scripture that are quoted here because you only have your textbook answers, which I found on that website btw, and programmed answers. I have God the Holy Spirit who dwells within me and speaks for me, with love. One has to understand that the bible in it’s best translation is the Word of God. But it is not intended to be used as weapons. You take a verse or a fragment and “use” it against the apostasy you call my Church. But if you would see the entire word of God, which includes Sacred Tradition, you would find the truth as I have. I only am partially through my journey to sanctification, but I am on my way and I wish the same for you. But it’s time for you to get started.

Finally you speak the truth, not is your words but the intent of your words, to hate. Here you let out your real objective. To misinterpret scripture to criticize the Church in which Jesus Himself built. What was the meaning of blasphemy again?

But it is steveyb3, because it is a spiritual death that sin causes, detatchment from God - that IS eternal torment because we are made in God’s likeness (God being Trinity) and it is not good for man to be alone. If we reject God then what is left for us? Without God there is no love, there is no life, there is no truth.

Where is the chapter and verse that says everything must be sourced by chapter and verse? You do know it was the Catholic Church who put in the chapters and verses right? Paul didn’t write his letters full of chapters and headings and numbers. IF you will accept the authourity ONLY of the Bible, why would you reject the authourity who proclaimed and canonized the Bible - BASED ON what the Catholic Church believes?

The devil himself believes in God - he rejected God, not His existence, but His WAY, that is why the devil is the father of sin and lies. Even the demons believe in God and they shudder. By not believing in the devil you are only playing into his hands. God believes in the devil, so by rejecting the existence of the devil you are rejecting God.

But He could, because He is God, as is the Holy Spirit. That is why He also ASCENDED into Heaven, He wasn’t taken there by any other means like others before Him - like any King, He ASCENDED OF HIS OWN POWER.

Seriously, all of these issues were handled by the Church. Most of them are easily disproven by Scripture.

Hopefully, you are not Catholic; otherwise, you would be a heretic. :eek:
When one studies Scripture, one begins to understand that God is trinitarian: He acts as Father (Creator), Son (Redeemer), and Sanctifier (Holy Spirit). These manifestations of God are manifest throughout Scripture. The theology of Jesus as God was immediate in the Church, and is found in the first chapter opening of the Gospel of John. In fact, John is very adamant about it. One can also find this in the letters of Paul. The New Testament scriptures fully embrace Jesus as God. Even in Luke’s Gospel, Elizabeth says to Mary, “Who am I, that the *mother of My Lord *should come to visit me?”

Scripture and even our Creeds tell us that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, making Him God’s equal. It cannot be interpreted any other way. Jesus also said that after His death, resurrection, and Ascension, He would send the Paraclete to protect us and keep His Church from teaching error. ‘Paraclete’ is “Holy Spirit” in Greek (Paráklētos). It is not a description of God in the New Testament and the NT does not use it as a description of God, but it is used as a proper noun, a Name; in other words, God.

The theological debate in the early centuries was an attempt to reconcile all of this with the understanding of God as was known by the Jews with the revelation of God through Jesus Christ.

As far as reading Scripture, the concept of God as Trinity is definitely in there. Maybe not in *your *Bible, but in the Bible nevertheless. Your misunderstanding on the nature of God and Christ has led you into believing an error.

Where is the chapter and verse that says everything must be sourced by chapter and verse? You do know it was the Catholic Church who put in the chapters and verses right? Paul didn’t write his letters full of chapters and headings and numbers. IF you will accept the authourity ONLY of the Bible, why would you reject the authourity who proclaimed and canonized the Bible - BASED ON what the Catholic Church believes?

The devil himself believes in God - he rejected God, not His existence, but His WAY, that is why the devil is the father of sin and lies. Even the demons believe in God and they shudder. By not believing in the devil you are only playing into his hands. God believes in the devil, so by rejecting the existence of the devil you are rejecting God.

But He could, because He is God, as is the Holy Spirit. That is why He also ASCENDED into Heaven, He wasn’t taken there by any other means like others before Him - like any King, He ASCENDED OF HIS OWN POWER.
