The new age movement is satanic at its core

Your saying your not bitter? Judging by your behavior on this topic I would beg to differ.
Your disagreement and offense at my rejection says more about your bitterness than mine. Bitterness implies regret, of which I have none. It makes poking holes in your defense all the more enjoyable. 👍

Besides, it helps when I don’t really have a lot of people like you in my life. 😉

It isn’t uncharitable to openly disagree with someone. It becomes sinful, if i disagree in a way that is malicious. This lost wanderer person has been unkind from the moment he or she has come on the scene. Ive done nothing wrong in pointing that out to him. One could argue that Im being charitable by pointing that out. This way if he wishes to please God, he can rectify his behavior by being kinder in the future and in doing so be more pleasing to God.

I agree with you Rosarydevotion. The lost wanderer can be difficult to dialogue with. But all is good. Or we can all just :grouphug::hug1:

spread the gospel at all times, when necessary, use words, said st francis assissi

St. Francis never actually said that. It’s one of many quotes which have popped up in modern times and been erroneously attributed to him.

Right and your finger wagging, slandering of ‘New Age’ followers, and complete over-generalization of an entirely diverse movement/montage of disparate beliefs entitles you to a halo.

Face it. People like you are the reason why I’m not so Catholic anymore.

i see, but nevertheless, it reflects francis’s ideals.

I’m wondering if people are afraid of what they don’t understand. I know a lot of people here have talked about one of the hallmarks of New Age is vibrational healing. If String Theory turns out to be correct, and apparently, many if not most mathematicians and physicists do believe it to be true, they just haven’t been able to figure out how to see the strings, and the math mostly is compatible with the theory, then vibrational energy will prove to be true. I do not have the intellectual capacity to completely understand String Theory, but I know some mathematicians who go to yearly conferences learning about it. I believe Einstein also thought this to be true, but couldn’t prove it during his time.

God is way more complex than any of us could ever even begin to understand. Why be so afraid of new discoveries? I once heard on the EWTN program Women of Grace, they warned people against many different types of “healings” including acupuncture, because it is an Eastern medicine, therefore, not from God. It is first of all ridiculous, because even Western medicine now recommends people to use it and have been able to give a Westernized explanation as to why it works. And this: Didn’t God also create the people in the East? Is it not possible that he gave them an intellect to understand some things that maybe people in the West haven’t been able to see or understand? If an atheist makes a new scientific discovery that will help us in our everyday life or health, do we say that it can’t be so because he is an atheist therefore it must be a trick from Satan and not from God? If people in other Eastern countries are worshipping false Gods, that is OUR fault for not evangelizing them! Everyone is hardwired to be drawn to God, they just don’t realize who or what really is the one and only God.

Don’t discount everything! Should you be doing the spiritual side of yoga, no, but even Western medicine tells people to do the exercises. Reiki is also suspect, but don’t discount all of Eastern medicine.

Back in the day, we would call this sort of thing, “throwing the baby out with the bathwater.”

Why would you let “people like me” weaken your Catholic faith? You shouldnt let anyone do that. Your giving people way too much power over you.

BTW, for someone weak in the Catholic faith you do spend a lot of time on a forum devoted to the building of it.

LOL!!! Again, you sound just like any other typical New Age guru. Might want take out that large plank unless you’re willing to concede. 👍

Can’t you see the irony of claiming I give people way too much power over me yet don’t think the same if I started nodding, agreeing, and huddling down in your little prayer circle? Being part of a sheeple, you don’t have the right to even talk.

Because contrary to your claim, I do have faith… faith that the Church will realize your camp of so-called ‘spiritual warriors’ are just as much diseased as the ‘satanic’ New Age movement. 👍

I honestly don’t see the irony in what your saying. The only irony I see is you who frequents a Catholic board, yet makes fun of Catholics for wanting to be holy.🤷

So now your saying the New Age movement is diseased, when before you were defending it. I’m not sure you understand your own position.

You tell me not to let others control me yet the New Age crowd says the same thing. You’ve just deliberately shattered your own credibility! I don’t know why you implore people to step into your own shoes. From the start of this thread, all I’ve seen you do is build a strawman of the New Age moment. You claim to have had experience but all you’ve ever done is sound like the very people you despise.

Sounds like this strawman of yours isn’t just a strawman, it’s one that resembles you more than what you’ve got beef with. :rotfl:

Where is your irony? Pointing out the flaws in a faith where people defend it isn’t an irony. It’s called critical thinking. Unlike most of Christianity’s critics, I’m not content to hide within my online comfort zones. 👍

Apparently, you don’t even grasp the vernacular grammar of using quotation marks. 🤷

i feel that this discussion will go smoothly only if people are open to it, and also stop saying that the other one is like a new age guru, bad grammar, that is a canned response, etc. and posters discuss the topic instead of each other

Exactly. The hard part is, we have people with such different world views, that they are speaking different dialects that have such presuppositions underlying them, that it’s like they are tuned into different radio stations. If I ask someone to open up and see things from my platform, that comes across like asking a fish to leave its water. It doesn’t even know there is water there so it doesn’t understand the request.

I know from first hand experience what it’s like, and what it’s like when and if such a gap is finally bridged. 👍

Ok Lost Wanderer you say OVER and OVER that spiritual conservative catholics make you want to less catholic. So may I ask you, what WOULD make you want to take your faith ore seriously?

That is an open, honest question.

It’s not just(bold mine) theology. It’s a personal disconnection that no amount of online debate and discussion is going to fix.
Threads like this would be a start.
this is what i got after asking him.
