The New Testament may not support Marxism as some say.

It is time to stop thinking of the Soviet Union as the evil empire, and start looking at the people that lived there with compassion and understanding.
The Soviet Union was evil.
It is a matter of history.

That says nothing about some of her people.

I was unaware this discussion was in any way denigrating the people that lived in the former Soviet Union.

Please indicate where exactly I have not been civil.

It is true that I doubt your sources. I do not believe looking critically at these is in any way aggression or uncivil.
You said: "It is not reason to get snippy"
that is a direct attack.
My posts, they are thoughtful and well researched, do not belittle me nor my statements: that is uncivil

Your doubt can be solved by researching, by doing the hard work.

I believe you are reading more into the statement than was intended.

No one here has made a personal attack. Well, except you...but I believed that was a response to high emotions, and I chose to ignore it.
For reference...
1. "No one here has made a personal attack. "
You made a personal attack ("that is not reason to get snippy"). Instead of acknowledging it, you belittling me- that is uncivil
2. About "cheap talk"
From wiki: In the context of game theory, "cheap talk" refers to communication between players that is costless to transmit and receive, non-binding, and unverifiable.
Because it is non-binding and unverifiable, it is worth nothing (it is costless to transmit and receive).
You provided no justification to express your doubt (unverifiable) and when promoted to do so you avoided (non-binding)
By definition, your posts disagreeing with literacy rate sources fall under the definition of cheap talk.

There is no need to ignore anything I write, I will address issues directly, if we keep communication civil.

I am going to lock this thread for the time being, until everyone has a chance to step back and calm down.

We would all do well to presume the good will of one another, and realize that different people have different sensibilities. What is civil to one person might not be civil to someone else.
