My boss is convinced that the next President will without question be a Democrat. He said there is no way another Republican will get elected next time around. He told me that only the staunch conservatives believe a Republican has a chance next term.

I did put up a little resistance and I told him that saying something like that now is assanine. But he is convinced that because of all the deaths in Iraq and the way Bush has screwed up Iraq there is no way a Republican can win.

I asked him how he can say this when he doesn’t even know who will be nominated next time on either side. But he just claims it’s a cycle that will come around again.

I don’t know…I think the South and heartland of the country is just too strongly Republican for a Democrat to be a shoe in next election. But I think the upcoming Congressional elections could be a guide to see if the Republicans are in trouble.

Despite their flaws, may God in his wisdom and grace BLESS this country with a Democrat for President. We have been scourged enough with evils of Republicans who pay lip service to Christ but yet do the devils work.

I think there’s a good chance the next President will be a Democrat. I doubt I’ll vote for him or her since the Democrats are very unlikely to nominate someone who’s pro-life. If they did, I’d probably vote for him or her.

The post is an obvious troll, which, curiously, I sort of agree with in a way.

I would agree that the Democrats have a good chance of winning the Presidential '08 election. I do think Congress will still be in the hands of the Republicans, the Senate May swing back to the dems withing the next 4 years though.

Yes. Because slaughtering tens of millions of infants in the womb, destroying human embryos for research as if they were rats, and promoting homosexuality as a normal way of life is *far *less destructive to our country than trying to liberate an oppressed people from a ruthless dictator.

Oh, and don’t forget their aversion towards God and trying to remove him from every facet of American life…

The country is split down the middle for the most part. I don’t see that changing. Therefore either party could potentially win.

If the War in Iraq does not improve, Republicans will be hurt.

The Republicans do have some things going in their favor. The economy is currently robust. The electoral map is slightly in their favor. Large money donors such as George Soros and the AFL-CIO seem unlikely to pony up as much cash during the next go around.

There are always wild cards like a third party nomination, recession and/or a terrorist attack.

In short, it’s way too early to predict.

I second that! Bless us with a democrat? Please!!

I agree. To be sure, I’d like a Democrat in the White House in '08, but I can live with a moderate non-warloving Republican.

What a Christian thing to say.

Which is why the Democrats will never support it.

Good 'ol partisan politics at its finest…sacrifice the good of the nation for one’s own political gain.

Either that or they actually are opposed to it.

Most likely it’s a combination of both reasons.

I think the country is trending more conservative, at least socially. So I think it still bodes well for republicans. As long as the democrats are wedded to gay marriage and credibility-waning NARAL, it will be their downfall.

However, baby-boomers are retiring. They have shaped domestic policy since the sixites. This retiring generation is a huge demographic, and can shape the future of american politics with their votes in '08, '10, and '12. Seniors are usually voting for the biggest government benefit for them, so this bodes well for democrats.

The key will be how republican and democrat messages are recieved by the trending conservative youth, and the traditionally democratic retirees.

And…don’t forget, NATIONAL SECURITY will still trump everything, especially in '08.

Listen, Bush won last november because democrats voted for him, because they felt safer with Bush rather than Kerry.

I would feel safer with at least three republican would-be candidates before I’d choose a certain junior senator.

If the Republicans do the devils work…I would hate to know who it is the Democrats work for then

It all depends on who the Democrats run and who the Republicans run.

For example, if the Dems run Hillary and the GOP runs McCain, the current polls show McCain winning hands down.

I tend to agree with this, with the addition that Cuomo also probably wins under the same scenario. No matter what though, I don’t see a pro-life candidate winning. I also question whether McCain or Cuomo could get out of the primaries given that the Christian right will more likely not support either of them. The bad news is that any of the current crop that they would support like possibly Frist or Santorum don’t really stand much of a chance in my opinion unless the Democrats put up someone really awful.

I sure wish the Democrats could find someone pro-life who would go back to their old values instead of the current “we stand for being against whatever the Republicans are for.” 😦

Kind of like the Cadillac commercial, the Democratic party “ain’t your father’s Democratic party”. Too much infighting for this party to get elected. On one hand you have the extremist Dems who think Bush plotted 9/11…these people are typically found on Democraticunderground.org. Then next to them you have the (still extreme) Kennedy’s of the world who are against everything the Republicans are for. Then on the other side of the fence you have Dems like Zell Miller…these Dems are found in the South and have adopted the Republican party, since they are politically closer. I don’t see these two groups finding common ground.

The Repubs don’t infight to the degree that the Dems do…should help them out even though they don’t appear to have any strong candidates at this time.

Based on the the stranglehold liberals seem to have on policy decisons in the DNC, I’m confident America will have another Republican President in 2008.

Since the MSM has lost it’s grip on information and folks can see/learn for themselves the destructiveness of liberal policies to our society I don’t see a Democrat being elected again before 2012. I don’t see the Congress changing hands for the next 30 years for the same reasons.
