Maybe it’s time to let India acknowledge her debt to the countless nuns and priests who work selflessly to offer education, healthcare and social services where the Government has failed for over 70 years.

That’s for sure. Finally, someone in defense of religion. Not to mention what a horrible ordeal that must have been for that poor nun! Her response of her assaulters: “Forgive them, for they know not what they do.” It takes a very soft heart to ask that they are forgiven, when they don’t deserve it. Only through Christ do we deserve forgiveness for the awful things we do. If not for Him, we would have no right to ask such a thing, now would we?

Well said. I once read an article that explained the rising tuition costs in Catholic schools is due to the decreasing number of nuns that used to teach classes of 40 students for peanuts such as room and board.

May God bless our nuns and may this woman be blessed for her willingness to teach and also heal from her rape.
