Though to be honest, I’m not sure whether the current LotH includes Compline per se or not. Perhaps they just call it “Night Prayer”?

Deacons are also praying in unison with the rest of the clergy and faithful of the Catholic Church. I am scheduled to be ordained in December, one of the many promises, I hate the word oath, I have to make on that day is to pray the liturgy of the hours.The Divine Office has its origin in the Catholic Church. And, yes, Compline (Night Prayer) is part of the Divine Office.

The canons of my church require every seminarian and cleric to recite the Office daily. For us, of course, that means just Morning and Evening Prayer; any other offices are supererogatory.
