One of the things that I’ve noticed about this particular thread, and about you specifically, greylorn, is that you are operating from an hypocrisy. On the one hand, you deny anyone any relevance who dares to speak from their personal belief system, while on the other hand, declaring your own personal belief system as tantamount to that of a scientific declaration.

It’s interesting, but sad.
I won’t comment on that, but the main issue is the irroneous belief that there is some war between science and religion, specifically the Judeo/Christian God. Philosophy can shed light here, especially if we travel down the roads of Aquinas.

To recap: there’s a difference between the laws of logic and the laws of physics. There’s sometimes a difference between created/uncreated from the human perspective and caused/uncaused from the divine perspective. These distinctions are important, and in many cases, solve any “contradiction”.

And greylorn is right, God becoming man makes no sense without bringing love into the picture.

ciao.

Granny,

Your last two posts have consisted of weird icons devoid of meaning. Why waste thread space with such crud? Are you trying to run up a posting count?

I’ve come to expect much better of you.

If there was an icon available which included a smartly raised middle finger (as smart as that can be) I’d be seriously thinking about employing it here. Instead, I’d invite you to share your thoughts, rather than mindless symbols.
Penalty flag - 15 yards for demonstration

Greylorn, just as I think it is absolutely absurd that the NFL has stifled any demonstration of football players after a touchdown, it is absurd to think people here cannot have a little fun with the icons. It is not meant to be beligerent or demeaning … just a small demonstration of fun and humor (at no one else’s expense). Please give some of us a break … even if it is just an inch.

Here’s the problem with that statement: There is no war between science and religion, per se. But there is a war between many scientists and many religionists. Other than that, I agree with you. 😉
