Only slightly off-topic,
I’m wondering how many posters supported former Archbishop Lefebvre
as opposed to their distaste for in-good-standing Cardinal George.
Funny you should mention that as since Pfleger is supportive of Farrakhan and Farrakhan is an anti-Semite, I wonder if Pfleger would welcome SSPX’s Richard Williamson who is another anti-Semite?

Funny you should be non-responsive to my post.

What has that got to do with anything? Lefebvere was disobedient and was excommunicated for his disobedience. Are you suggesting Fr. Pfleger should be excommunicated for being disobedient, dissident, and heretical?

This has little to do with Cardinal George, other than to ask why he is giving a heretical priest an award.

You cannot declare Father as “heretic.”
That call is reserved to the Church.
My point is that many are criticizing a Bishop in good standing.
Why? Is it a fondness for ranting and pointing fingers?

This thread could be re-named ‘Kick a Bishop’
but Malkin would never use such a headline, would she?

I agree. This thread has wandered from discussing the topic to trying to lump those who disagree with Catharina as hypocritical.

You agree, then, that Fr. Pfleger is disobedient and dissident … right? It’s kind of incontrovertible at this point. As to the charge of heresy, whether or not he is formally convicted of it, he said, “That’s why there should be woman priests. That’s why there should be married priests. That’s why there should be woman bishops, and woman cardinals.”

Need I repost Pope John Paul II’s very clear and very absolute statement that such a thing is categorically impossible? To denounce this is heresy. Therefore, what Fr. Pfleger is heretical.

No … it is because what Cardinal George did was scandalous! He gave a lifetime achievement award to one who is publicly and openly dissenting against firm Church teaching, who is abusing the liturgy in a profound way, who is causing scandal by celebrating an illicit and possibly invalid Mass! This would be like Martin Luther’s bishop giving him a public honor for something, even though he led MILLIONS away from the faith! Perhaps you can explain … how is this not the very ESSENCE of scandal?
