Trump is claiming credit for ending a problem that he created.
It seems for the Washington Post, at least, that history started on 20 January 2017.
Regardless of who started this problem, Trump’s decision to effectively give a green light to the Turks to invade while withdrawing US forces has strengthened both Russia and Iran in the region and weakened US influence there. And the Israelis might be a little nervous seeing how easily we abandon our allies.

George Washington, the first President, still maintained interest in his Mount Vernon plantation during his White House years.
Did George Washington hold big international meetings at Mount Vernon where foreign governments would be spending money to stay there?

Trump was elected on promising to get us out of these endless wars started by his predecessors, not to kick the can down the road for the next guy to ignore.

Israel has the most powerful military in the region. They aren’t expecting us to defend them.

In 1780 the US was a diplomatic backwater, not a place where the Great Powers would be likely to meet, even neglecting the danger of transoceanic traveling in the 18th century. And Mount Vernon wasn’t a resort, it was a working plantation.

I’d say the problem began when we inserted troops along the Turkish border for the very first time.Again, either we are the world’s police force, or we are not. The US is often told to mind its own business, until such time as someone needs them.

Considering that we only had about 1000 troops in Syria (who have been moved to another foreign country) and that the Kurds were doing most of the fighting against ISIS for us, and withdrawing them has resulted in many of our Kurdish allies being killed, I don’t think that it was that great a sacrifice on our part to leave them there. And sometimes it’s necessary to be involved in foreign regions because by not being there, the resulting instability might endanger our strategic interests including part of our oil supply and allow our enemies to become more powerful at our expense. It’s not realistic to pursue an isolationist foreign policy because the whole world is too tightly intertwined economically, etc.

It wasn’t a sacrifice for you at all, unless you or a loved one was actually serving, and risking life and limb, there.

As I said, the 1000 troops were just moved to another foreign country, to Iraq to fight ISIS there. And people who join the military know that they are likely to risk life and limb. If they don’t want to do that, then they should find another profession.

For the selfish people, who are not personally affected that is true. But some of us look further than the tip of our nose. The fact is that Trump is totally unreliable, he changes his mind according the what Hannity and the others say. His words are being ignored by the world leaders and rightfully so.

We, the country will have to pay for his unreliability.

It’s always easy to justify the sacrifice someone else’s life for the “greater good”.

That’s not a fact at all.

Another non-fact.
His words are being ignored by the world leaders and rightfully so.
Personally, I could care less what other “world leaders” think of Trump. Most of them couldn’t shine Trump’s shoes without written instructions. Even then, they’d likely botch it. At least one would probably use the polish as a face paint (/cough Justin Trudeau /cough).

This past week we’ve been picking up the Denver Post for our neighbors while they are gone. I am now reminded of why we cancelled our subscription. If what I’ve read is an example of the lefist bias’ in newspapers as a whole,it’s no wonder the gullible dem supporters are hoodwinked. My goodness the cherry picking and out of context articles,I’d probably hate Trump too if I was as ill formed as those who rely only on mainstream outlets.

These are people who never grew up learning that you can’t win all the time and you don’t cheat to win.
Do you refer to Trump’s golf game? His own caddy saw that Trump threw the opponent’s ball into a sand trap, and he takes several mulligans so he could “win”.

I don’t know what your views are, but in my eyes, anyone who cheats in a game is the worst scumbag of all.

Actually, the NEWS division is not bad at all. The problem is OPINIONS division.

Watching Fox News at the very least gives a true version of what’s going on .Im not hoodwinked I know they have their bias’ too but unlike the lame steam media the don’t distort and cherry pick the facts

That quote appears in a delightful 2003 book, First Off the Tee, by the investigative journalist Don Van Natta Jr., who observed that we could learn a lot from the fact that the last 11 presidents going back to Eisenhower (with the exception of Jimmy Carter) have been fairly obsessed with the game . While detailing their worst habits on the course, Van Natta implied it was no accident that some of the biggest presidential cheaters at golf—Richard Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, Bill Clinton—were also some of the biggest liars in the Oval Office. Clinton, for example, was notorious for taking what Van Natta called “Billigans”—a play on “mulligan,” golfing parlance for a do-over (which is not allowed under the rules).“If you want to learn about Bill Clinton’s character problem, you don’t have to subpoena Whitewater documents,” conservative commentator Byron York once wrote. “Just watch him on the golf course.”

I always think of Fox as being an arm of the Trump Organization with Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson being its main spokespeople. Real reporters like Shepard Smith feel compelled to resign.

Yes, this is correct.
