The Pope and the new world order

Pope Francis’ words have been distorted more than those of any other pope in my lifetime. I’m sure what Pope Francis means is a world of international peace and harmony without physical, psychological, or spiritual barriers, NOT a literal world government. Please give the Pope some credit for his understanding of the sociopolitical and economic structure of countries.

In general, there is nothing wrong with a “one world government” provided it governed justly (including due regard for subsidiarity). In fact, it was seen as ideal in certain medieval circles (one God, one Pope, one Emperor). Opposing such a government in principle is basically an American Protestant/Evangelical thing. The Catholic Church has always been supportive of just international arrangements.

That being said, it is certainly legitimate to be concerned that in this day and age it might be unlikely for such a government to act justly and therefore it may be prudent to forgo granting further juridical authority to such a body.

As for a one World Religion–the point of the Church is to work toward one–of course, that religion should be the Catholic one. The real criticisms that have actual substance of the Pope-Imam document is that it appears to deny this, and promote a plurality of religions as a willed end instead.

Many people believe this world goverment will be when the AntiChrist will rule the Earth.
The Roman Empire (both pagan and Christian) referred to itself as a/the world government (St. Luke’s Gospel opens with Caesar sending out a directive that “the whole world” [i.e. the Roman Empire] “should be enrolled”): it was not being a global government, which indirectly in times of peace there usually is (indirectly because some “Pax” has been established and enforced by the power(s) that be), that’s the problem: it’s not the scale of government that is evil but how that power or authority is used or abused.

Since 2008 not only the Church but a lot of even pro-free trade economists have recognized that, for example, some sort of international regulatory regime in preventing fraud and wild market speculation is needed to guarantee reasonable market stability and prevent unnecessary crashes of the market and economies. That arises just from the nature of global trade: just about any large scale and serious human social activity usually requires at least some oversight to prevent cheating, for example. Even sports often requires an unbiased referee.

I definitely agree that the UN on many points has gone way off the deep end. It’s tragic because it does this quite in spite of its own founding principles, which typically actually ban the very interference in personal lives the UN sometimes promotes and encourages governments to undertake. Promoting abortion is a serious crime against humanity and recipe for the kind of thinking that actually caused World War II and so many of its horrors: primarily a profound disrespect for the dignity and integrity and infinite value of human life, especially undeniably innocent human life.

So for reasons like that the UN is justly losing credibility in free societies. They have no one to blame but themselves: but at the same time, completely disregarding or abandoning the UN would almost certainly result in less cooperation amongst nations and increase jealousies and tensions. So the devil wins either way you go: but I think a balanced approached, consistent with and true to the UN’s basic or fundamental founding principles, is the best route and it seems to me the Church and Popes tend to promote this more balanced approach: encouraging cooperation and peaceful resolution while respecting e.g. the most basic human right to life, religious freedom and respecting the principle of subsidiarity.

Could someone link me to the HQ of the “New World Order”?

Hint, it does not exist. This is a term made up to frighten people. It is a conspiracy theory, right up there with faking the moon landing and flat earthers.

This is not a Catholic source and if they’re publishing articles like this, it’s not to be taken seriously either.

The world has been ordered various ways over time and it will likley change again. In that sense the term “new world order” is neutral. IMO, we do need a new world order–one where the kingship of Christ over all creation and in particular over human societies shines forth. On the other hand, I can think of plenty of alternative world orders that are worse than the one we currently have…

For the record, as a person who supports, votes for, and respects our president, I hold the same opinion. The leader if the US should not govern by twitter…
I like Trump. If he did not have twitter the media would twist everything he says. Trump has been misquoted many times by the media.
There were at least two events when the Pope’s words were misquoted, that I double checked.

The ,“New World Order,” is actually the “Old World Order” of paganism and atheism, a world without Christ. They think they are inventing something new but they are only reviving something that has existed before.
The “New World Order” is:
The Culture of death
moral relativism
atheism
narcissism
materialism
satanism
the removal of God from our public language
a world without borders, etc…

The only real difference between the Old World Order and the New World Order is that we have technology so that tyrants and dictators can enforce their Godless laws on us.

The New World Order gives the false promise that we can, supposedly, solve any problem without God.

The New World Order tries to convince us that everyone is the same. God’s way is opposite we are unique, independent, and born free.

The NWO says ,“We can remake man in our image,” which is in direct opposition to God’s creation, “Let us make man in our image.”

Their headquarters are wherever they gather to plan on taking our freedoms. Their motto is ,“You go down, so I can go up”.

I’m new to this forum, and I thought I would share a link that pertains to this article. However, I keep getting an error message that states, “Sorry, you can’t include links in your posts.”

At any rate, the article “Pope Francis Calls For One World Government, Attacks Border Walls…” appears to be about the “Address of the Holy Father Francis to the participants in the Plenary of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences” on May 2, 2019.

We definitely need cooperation between governments and countries. We’ve seen when that doesn’t exist, greatly disastrous wars break out. I’m hesitant to draw too much from his words. Something to read closely.
I would argue that the opposite is true. The more alliances countries have with each other, the greater the risk of large wars. Look at WW1. What began as a small conflict between Austria-Hungary and Serbia evolved into a world war with Americans and Germans slaughtering each other because Germany was allied to Austria-Hungary, and the USA was allied to England and France, which were allied to Russia, which was allied to Serbia. To much cooperation between countries can have devastating effects.

So… is it true that the Pope desires a global governement?
Oh-oh. I knew this would happen. They’ve found us out. All these years we’ve been holding secret meetings on Sunday mornings, drawing up plans, sending out our agent provocateurs, and concealing our non-KJV Bibles.

Well, I guess it’s Go-Time!

It was somewhat more complicated than that, but that’s the gist of it. Still, I don’t think that’s an example as to why alliances are bad.

Nato allies haven’t fought each other in all of the time they’ve been there, that’s pretty impressive. Nato has been around for 70 years or something and keeps growing.

And Europe in large part, was the impetus of World War I and II. There was also fighting in the Far East of course in WWII. Two different theaters of war.

Anyway, to those following this story, I see at lifesitenews, Cardinal Burke seems to have some sort of comment.
