I go to a college where Catholics and Catholicism are suspicious and unpopular, so I find myself thinking of ways people might find something to criticize the Church about.
Amen -
God has put you in a position to be a great light to others.
Hope your time here at the boards help you gain insights and answers to some of the criticisisms.

Peace
James

I don’t think the Pope puts his faith in technology, I think he puts his faith in Jesus.

That being said, and on the lighter side, perhaps the Pope enjoys a bit of technology that goes from 0-60 in 8 seconds even with the cube:)

Being that it’s a Mercedes, I can only wonder how it corners:D

I’m not trying to side track the thread but i’m curious, what college do you attend? If you don’t feel comfortable sharing that info I understand. I’m a new Catholic and so I’m beginning to see the prejudice against them by other “Christians”…I’m moving to SC soon and the area is STRONGLY Anti-Catholic…Bob Jones and Furman Universities are near by…bleh

i was actually rejected for a job b/c i was Catholic

I go to a state college in Connecticut. Catholics aren’t very popular here and even some of the history faculty seem to have an ax to grind with the Church.

I like the popemobile lol besides if we had popes walking around carefree and unprotected, due to the increased violence, we’d have to elect a new pope every few weeks. I’d prefer him to be safe behind glass…
Another consideration that I haven’t seen mentioned in the thread yet–but which cannot be ignored–for the Pope to be unprotected/vulnerable to a madman shooting at him is to endanger the crowds of people also–bullets do not discriminate between the intended target of a madman and someone who happens to be present.

It always saddens me to read a post like yours because I have to wonder if you’ve given any moments of reflection to your notions before you decided to post them. It could be simply that you’re young and without a living memory of the assasinations and attempted assasinations that have rocked my world. .
“I understand why he must do that because of assassination” is what I said, and if I was the Pope, (this god among humans as the Catholics have been treating him and the one that came before him), I would be so secure in my faith that like the true Romans of old that lived a short life with glory than as a lamb for a long life. There is something to be said about the men of old, they didn’t fear death. I have read a lot of the replies and I still believe if a man is so devoted to his religion that he would smile and wave and die a martyr for the cause of Christianity. It may sound extreme, but if you look at the future of Europe and church goers, it has steadily decreased. Moreover, there is real power in the bones of the saints that still have their glory. I don’t have faith in a god, I didn’t recieve that in childhood like the rest of you, but even in my atheist paradigm I see the power of a man standing up to the tide with strength and determination to live and die for the cause of what a person believes in. Because without that what is a man (or woman) without having that? There is also something to be said about the Muslims that they will go to certain death on a mission or in a war fighting for their homeland and religion, what are the Christians doing besides taking on the now apologetic Bill Maher, trying in vain to get god back in the schools, and watching the American Empire sweep over the middle east?

Christianity is slowly becoming lamed by a hippie society, protestantism and an ever increasing birth rate of the non-Christians. All the while the Pope is happy, humble and taking no action to stand up to the tide that is washing the beach of the children of Christ one wave at a time.

As you will ask what are Atheists doing? They are doing everything that the Christians don’t have, Christianity is becoming more and more marginalized, we are changing the form that you know it in, and as you believe in a happy man of judgement and damnation for all that resides in the clouds, Atheists and Marxists are slowly unraveling the society of Christians as the years go by.

Oh and Catharina I have thought about all these things before I posted them thoroughly.

I suggest you release some of those magic white doves before you post.😃

Most college professors see Catholics as Anti-Semites, because of the Spanish Inquisition. As well Catholics don’t accept homosexuals and to the ruling powers of most colleges are radical followers of Vladimir Lenin. Did you really think going to a state college you would hear pro-christian messages?

If you were the Pope? “and if I was the Pope, (this god among humans as the Catholics have been treating him and the one that came before him), …” you would never even consider the idea of “this god among humans” since it’s contrary to Faith in every way. “… magic white doves?” Ditto. It’s quite easy to understand your frame of reference now that you’ve revealed your agenda. No surprises there; thanks for doing so.

“Most college professors see Catholics as Anti-Semites, because of the Spanish Inquisition.” That would be amusing if it weren’t such a pitiful statement. Care to back it up with NUMBERS, FACTS, POLLS, STUDIES? I think most college professors would be very surprised to hear such a statement. (MY thought, MY opinion.)

In answer to Ryan29: a child of God, everything of value, nothing of value.
