Its not a Catechism, it appears to merely be a cheat sheet to Catholic terms. It appears you’re thinking its something its not.
As far as I can tell it doesn’t look like a bad idea. And if the British Bishops thought it was a good idea, why would someone be scandalized that an American priest didn’t disagree?

You are for homosexuals in the priesthood, as you made clear in a thread a few weeks ago, and you are fine with sacred things, including Christ in the Eucharist, being referred to in vulgar terms, and equivicated to secular things that have no sacred meaning.
Excuse me, but he IS visiting Catholics and his ‘audience’ will certainly be Catholic. I think the silly thing has been put together for people organising the gig, putting the stage together, that sort of thing. I guess they are stupid and can’t possibly understand something that is not entertainment so the translation is necessary.
I agree. The thing has taken on a carnival atmosphere with all the commercial markings of a rock concert. How sad.

They should have put it in the other order, then - they should be saying, let’s call the table an Altar, instead of saying, let’s call the Altar a table. But the way it’s listed, it shows the Altar being called a table, instead of the other way around. You are talking in circles. I made the comment they should teach the meaning of the sacred items instead of comparing them to secular items, you say they aren’t supposed to be teaching. They are teaching Church terms not theology. There’s a difference.

I think that’s nit picking. When I looked at it I not for one second thought they were calling the altar a table.
There were perhaps better ways of accomplishing the same task. However that doesn’t mean the way that was chosen is a sign of the apocalypse.
Terms are not to be seperated from what they signify. Words and terms are used to relay concepts they are not just letters and sounds. Terms are not being taught, as you claim, their meanings are being changed by attaching them to words with other established concepts and meanings. They are not teaching terms they are distorting them by changing their sacred meaning to a vulgar one.
I agree…a lot of unnecessary lack of charity on this one.
