Friends! Please pray for my fiancee, that he will believe in who Jesus Christ, our Beloved King, truly is, the Second Person of the beautiful Holy Trinity. My fiancee is coming closer to faith every day. In particular, I myself am in need of prayers, that my faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to instruct and move hearts is indeed active in the world. I desire to have total faith in the work of the Holy Spirit, trusting that he will reveal to my fiancee his beloved companion, Christ.

On the topic as well, how shall I describe the relationship between Christ and the Holy Spirit, the Second Person and the Third Person of the Holy Trinity? I know that all human knowledge is limited but I do not want to accidentally make an error that misguides my fiancee in how I talk about these beautiful two. So, for now, I have called them Companions. 🙂 And by the way, what is the relationship between the Father and the Holy Spirit?

I know that the reason Jesus Christ is so important is because, without Him, we cannot know who God truly is and what he has done for us in unconditional love. It’s an awfully easy temptation for non-Christians who are curious about God to say they believe in God the Father only, or an incorrect view of the Holy Spirit only, as some sort of vague spirit, as if these could ever be separated from the truth of who Jesus is; they are eternally Three in One. I know this way of thinking because I came from a non-Christian background.

It’s also tempting for me to interfere with the work of the Holy Spirit (ouch! I repent!), thinking I must step in and explain away every mystery of scripture for the comfort of the doubting, but I only want to do The Lord’s work: please, pray for me to be a faithful evangelist, allowing God to work through me, please pray that I will have perfect trust in his work and timing in people’s lives. 💛

This is how my theology teacher in college explained to us about the Holy Trinity…

First, she invited one of our classmates to come in front and asked the whole class, “Whose head is this?” We answered: “His”. Then she proceeded with the next question…“Whose hands are these?” and we answered: “His”. Lastly, she asked: “Whose feet are those?”, again, we answered “His”.

She then explained that all parts of him belonged to one body but have different functions: the head does the thinking, the hands do the working, and the feet do the walking.

Same goes with the Holy Trinity: GOD the Father being the Creator, GOD the Son being the Saviour, and GOD the Holy Spirit being the Counselor. All of them belonging to one body but have different functions.

Another example she gave was the sun. The sun itself represents GOD the Father, the ray or the beam represents the Son, and the heat that you feel represents the Holy Spirit, but all belonging to one part.

I hope that would somehow give you a clearer idea about the Holy Trinity.

GOD bless and I’ll include you in my prayer.

Shalom! 😇😇😇

Catechism
252 The Church uses
(I) the term “substance” (rendered also at times by “essence” or “nature”) to designate the divine being in its unity,
(II) the term “person” or “hypostasis” to designate the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the real distinction among them, and
(III) the term “relation” to designate the fact that their distinction lies in the relationship of each to the others.
254 … They are distinct from one another in their relations of origin: "It is the Father who generates, the Son who is begotten, and the Holy Spirit who proceeds."88 …
St. Thomas Aquinas wrote in Summa Theologiae > First Part > Question 28 The Divine Relations
Article 4. Whether in God there are only four real relations – paternity, filiation, spiration, and procession
…Hence, it follows that real relations in God can be understood only in regard to those actions according to which there are internal, and not external, processions in God. These processions are two only, as above explained (I:27:5),
  • one derived from the action of the intellect, the procession of the Word;
  • and the other from the action of the will, the procession of love.
In respect of each of these processions two opposite relations arise;
  • one of which is the relation of the person proceeding from the principle;
  • the other is the relation of the principle Himself.
The procession of the Word is called generation in the proper sense of the term, whereby it is applied to living things. Now the relation of the principle of generation in perfect living beings is called paternity; and the relation of the one proceeding from the principle is called filiation. But the procession of Love has no proper name of its own (I:27:4); and so neither have the ensuing relations a proper name of their own. The relation of the principle of this procession is called spiration; and the relation of the person proceeding is called procession: although these two names belong to the processions or origins themselves, and not to the relations.

The Power of the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is The Spirit of God…

For those with sufficient working knowledge of e.g, the New Testament - one should consider the comparisons of mindset / personality of e.g, Simon Peter - Pre-Resurrection AND Post Pentecost… WHY? They’re like NIGHT AN DAY.

On the night of Jesus’ arrest just prior to His Crucifixion, Peter (ROCK) - the Appointed leader of the Apostles - Denies Christ Three Times… !

Beginning at Pentecost - In a completely miraculous and dramatic manner - God’s Spirit is NOW within Peter and His Apostles - Guiding Them… Speaking through them… !

I’ll expound upon the above when/if necessary - for reason that it assumes the reader is somewhat familiar with the New Testament

On the Note of Understanding the infra-relationships of the Three Divine Persons OF The Trinity. a few days back I started a Thread in SCRIPTURES… Understanding The Trinity?

It’s not an easy topic to broach -and it contains few from many Selections from Scriptures which in their manners reveal some of their Infra-Relationship of God the Father, God the Son and God’s Holy Spirit…

Yes. Prayers to God in JESUS’ name of actual Power…

I’ll add. From Experience, St. Jerome wisely said -

"IGNORANCE OF SCRIPTURES IS IGNORANCE OF CHRIST!"

The is Part of the Liturgy of Mass on St. Jerome’s Feast Day !

And is also found with Catholicism’s official Teachings: The Magisterium.

AS i’d done with my wife - JUMP INTO The Gospels Together
  • with as least a Minds Open Enough so that they are not purely Skeptical …
That way - FAITH can begin to Bloom - which Opens the DOOR to God’s Holy Spirit

Who in Turn can actually Guide you two
