Friends! Please pray for my fiancee, that he will believe in who Jesus Christ, our Beloved King, truly is, the Second Person of the beautiful Holy Trinity. My fiancee is coming closer to faith every day. In particular, I myself am in need of prayers, that my faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to instruct and move hearts is indeed active in the world. I desire to have total faith in the work of the Holy Spirit, trusting that he will reveal to my fiancee his beloved companion, Christ.
On the topic as well, how shall I describe the relationship between Christ and the Holy Spirit, the Second Person and the Third Person of the Holy Trinity? I know that all human knowledge is limited but I do not want to accidentally make an error that misguides my fiancee in how I talk about these beautiful two. So, for now, I have called them Companions.
And by the way, what is the relationship between the Father and the Holy Spirit?
I know that the reason Jesus Christ is so important is because, without Him, we cannot know who God truly is and what he has done for us in unconditional love. It’s an awfully easy temptation for non-Christians who are curious about God to say they believe in God the Father only, or an incorrect view of the Holy Spirit only, as some sort of vague spirit, as if these could ever be separated from the truth of who Jesus is; they are eternally Three in One. I know this way of thinking because I came from a non-Christian background.
It’s also tempting for me to interfere with the work of the Holy Spirit (ouch! I repent!), thinking I must step in and explain away every mystery of scripture for the comfort of the doubting, but I only want to do The Lord’s work: please, pray for me to be a faithful evangelist, allowing God to work through me, please pray that I will have perfect trust in his work and timing in people’s lives.
