Why is the book of Psalms filled with constant mention of enemies? Almost every chapter in the book of Psalms is a prayer about enemies (asking God to punish them and for protection)? Is this because King David was being hunted constantly by King Saul? Is that why every Psalm is about revenge and enemies? I heard that the enemies in the Psalms is actually a reference to the devil - and so any prayer in the Psalms that is against enemies is actually really against the devil. Is that true? Please explain.
