May dour faces and serious attitudes prevail in the face of this man’s full modern frontal assault on ole’ time Catholicism.

Oh you haven’t been around long enough to realize liberal would not be a word to describe the CA forum. Everything on the priest’s site as far as doctrine/church teaching is accurate and completely in line with the Church. You may not like the way he looks or his method of outreach -I don’t believe the church dictates on how a priest must wear his hair or what music genre he prefers.
I don’t think calling one of God’s priests a disgrace is something that should be tossed out there carelessly. Since you are not “liberal” I would think you would have more respect of the office of the priesthood.

He is definitely Eastern Rite it says in his about section on the left hand side. It says Eastern Catholicism and tells some history of the Eastern rite.

However great your distaste or disregard for this priest, I find it positively astonishing that you should bandy about words like “so-called priest” and “quit”, “find another line of work”, etc. when you’re talking about a validly ordained (not to mention faithful, joyful, and ostensibly successful in his ministry) priest who has dedicated his life to making the sacraments available to loathsomely uncharitable people such as yourself.

Calling most posters on this site “liberal” is like calling NRA members “a bunch of peace-loving hippies.”
Could what he’s doing be any worse than any of the teen masses put on now days? Read his info-he seems to have orthodoxy down. He’s probably a lot more effective than some of the priests I’ve seen who go through the Liturgy of the Eucharist so fast that they sound like auctioneers.

FYI, I just spoke with a friend yesterday about the old Mass. As a former altar server, he observed the priest coming in plastered every morning and garbling the prayers in a 12-minute record. Now to keep one’s head in the sand that all TLM priests are 100% holy and orthodox as compared to those who pray the new liturgy is a fallacy - don’t even go there! Did you know that a number of years PRIOR TO Vatican II, a Guest House opened in Michigan for alcoholic priests? the ones who prayed the TLM?

You can have long hair and beard, dress “rageddy”, sing of key music, and still be an example of holiness. Just read any good Francis of Assisi biography.
I would not mind serving with him in a mass, I’m sure it would make quite a memorable experience.

Father is not of any of the Eastern Churches (altho it is possible that he may have been granted bi-ritual faculties at some point). He is a Latin priest and pastors Holy Family parish in Latrobe PA. A careful reading of the text in question will reveal that he is describing his discovery of and love for the Eastern Churches and Rites and his friendship with then-Father Gregory Mansour, now-Eparch of Saint Maron in Brooklyn of the Maronites

That is true. The only priests that are Bi-Ritual in that area (This is in my hometown diocese and Latrobe is where I went to college) are a couple of the Benedictines at St. Vincent Arch-abbey in Latrobe.
