That report has a lot of negative review. For instance, the survey claims that colleges have more influence than parents, so if someone believes against church teaching while attending college that it must be the college teaching against church teaching etc. It also has several flaws, including only interviewing 39 female catholic college students, out of the 1000 females involved and then using those numbers as a representative of a whole.

Very flawed study.
dang, it was very far reaching 😦

IF the 70% is accurate, I wonder if “don’t believe in” includes “don’t have a proper understanding of”.

Subtle but distinct difference, methinks.

Just saw “Catholicism” by Fr. Robert Barron … the episode that discusses The Real Presence.

WOW!!!

I would have said before I had been doing a lot of reading of late that it was symbolic, but now I was say that it is real presence.

The overwhelmingly emotional state that comes over me when receiving the Eucharist is something, that to me, cannot be explained away. I struggled severely with promiscuity for nearly a decade, even though I would pray and try to be good. When I entered fully into the Church around five years ago, I learned the truth about the last supper and its impact on spiritual growth and the necessity of having Him inside you, in that specific way. I don’t get angry at our seperated brethren for their beliefs about the Eucharist, i pity and feel very deep sorrow for them. The Eucharist is my life and it reminds me that every time I sin it’s like recrucifying our Lord, our God, my own brother. I can’t bring myself to go to communion without confession if I need to go, I can’t do that to my God, my very blood brother, Christ Jesus. I have been free of premarital sex for nearly two years now, so please don’t tell Jesus He’s not where He says he is. “This is my body, which will be given up for you.” Wow, just wow.
