Laudetur Iesus Christus!
I was just listening to the podcsdt The liturgy guys. They brought up the topic of why dint hear much about Mary at Mass. They said that Mary is mentioned but in a spiritual mysterious way eg she represents the Church and so on.
We dont really do Marian devotions at Mass. There might be people who say certain personal privat prayers but Mass is not about devotions.
This would imply that all our devotions are there as a help and lead us to the Mass.
Do we only pray devotions and LOTH in order to be lead to the Mass? All our actions should lead us to be crucified with Christ?

All our actions should lead us to be resurrected with Jesus. As Jesus defeated satan, so can we , in our lives.

Mass is not the place for devotions as we think of them.
It is not the place for fellowship.
It is not the place for stirring homilies.
It is not cause for beautiful music from the choir.
It is not even primarily for receiving the Holy Eucharist.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is our opportunity to 1) follow Christ’s command and 2) offer ourselves as living sacrifices (as parts of Christ’s mystical Body) in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

That is the cake. The rest is icing.

168 hours per week. In the 167 remaining after Mass, there is plenty of time for all sorts of devotions.
