=ConfusedLucy;14702567]I don’t doubt that some feminists are vocal about wanting to force gay marriage on churches or bring down the nuclear family but its a bit of a stretch to consider it a conspiracy that is actually having an effect on peoples lives on a wide scale.
Okay, Lucy, if you REALLY want to know what is going, you’re going to have watch the videos I posted and look at Hick’s book. Reading my first sentence and then responding with a minute reflection isn’t going to cut it.
No, it is not a stretch because 3rd wave feminists and their allies have the three biggest megaphones in society as D’Souza notes, in academia, media and Hollywood.
I don’t know a lot with regards to the US education system but the UK system does seem to favour females, I don’t know why but there is a gap in exam results and women outnumber men a lot in universities, I don’t know if its better now but when I was at uni the gender imbalance was clearly visible. Maybe its because we start formal schooling early at age 4, a lot of boys struggle with sitting still and become disengaged from education compared to girls who are often more ready at this age. That said there is no evidence of conspiracy. Innocent decisions can have unintended consequences.
First of all, yes, the education system is not built for boys to learn in a good manner. Research has shown that boys do not learn by sitting still so well and need more hands-on activities.
Secondly, the UK government issuing quotas to address the imbalance in the gender was a bad idea. Take Chemistry for example. Chemistry departments had to take an equal number of women. The problem is that a lot of women who went into chemistry didn’t stay-----they went to psychology or the humanities. As a result, many chemistry departments ended up closing.
Third, your argument of “unintended consequences, let’s just leave it at that” is depressing and inaccurate. 3rd wave feminism is working actively to get rid of the nuclear family.
If you’re serious about learning about it, you’re going to have to get beyond trying to reason this out based solely on your personal experiences.
These decisions are now hardly innocent. People, especially those in the media, academia and the political sphere, know exactly what they are doing or what they are enabling.
And they are counting on lack of knowledge so they can keep pushing ahead with their agenda.
