The Response to Catholic vs Christian

As A Non Conformist ,I believe in God’s Word. Why Jesus came and Died, most Important the Forgiveness of Sins through Jesus Death and Resurrection .There Is NO mediator between God and Man. There are Faiths that somehow believe one has to go through Mary. This is not what Jesus said, even Mary recognised Jesus as her Saviour. I study roots of various Faiths to find many are Man made. Jesus words are simple Man Complicates them to his advantage. Many Faiths say you must do this or that Jesus said different. Many do not believe in Death there is a vast canyon which non shall cross ,Heaven and Hell. Alive one has the chance to repent, this means not to go back to the old self and do the Wilful Sins. If one keeps doing the wilful sins then Christ’s Death was Meaningless. Many do not understand who Melchizedek is. The one Priest who Lives forever. I have wonderful Catholic neighbours, yet they do not understand God’s word. I asked if they read God’s word, they have started to read the Bible more and through prayer will have their eyes opened ,this amazed me as Reading God’s word is our Food for life. Man cannot live by bread alone. I could go on ,I am shocked though ,for many are lost on understanding what is required by Jesus, they live by man’s way. Have they not yet learnt from Moses time? | believe and Know where my eternity is, many do not have Faith in God’s word sadly and maybe lost. There is no turning back after Death .God is Very Clear on this ,one is lost unless before Death they know who Jesus is and why he came. Lastly Test the Spirits as God’s word says ,do not believe them unless you do. This ,more so for Apparitions or visits. The Devil is Brilliantly good at imitating others. I would not accept any visit until tested. God’s words not mine.
Just as he did with the Koran if you do your research.
How do you know what Jesus said? Do you believe in The Bible? Does non-conformist mean full of pride and ego? Doesn’t the Bible say to do the will of the Father, not our own will? If so, we should all conform to his will. Isn’t that the major point of Christianity? I agree that non-conformity is the major point of Protestantism.

Christ is not Jesus’ last name. Jesus revealed the Christ…the fusion of spirit and matter that has existed from all eternity - you said Jesus is the Church…I think you meant Christ is the Church. Your reference to Ephesians asserts the same.

If you love God and your neighbor as Jesus instructed, clearly you are a member of his body.

You said Christ’s church is “applicable” to all…I was simply expanding that to Christ IS ALL (and all is IN Christ as Paul writes).

Here we disagree…Christ body in God’s perfection holds all contradictions, all peoples, all imperfections and yes all faith traditions. In order to be perfect it must include all that is not perfect. I believe the Catholic Mystics (and mystics of other faith traditions) and Jesus understood this universality in broader terms than those that insist on the “Catholic” container. There’s nothing wrong with holding strong to your faith tradition as long as we don’t use it in ways that create devision as the topic of this forum suggests…there is no “Christian vs Catholic vs Muslim”…we are all one.

It is not a bad thing…in fact it is the only thing and not something we can choose…it is our reality.

My point is don’t confuse religion or church membership with true spirituality.

Christ, the “Word”, is the church. Jesus revealed this great truth. See John’s Gospel.

It is God’s will that we awaken from our illusion of being separate from Christ or each other and in that awaking come to see the divinity in all that is. Perhaps this is just semantics…We are already united…it is we that fail to see that. We don’t need to unite…we need to awaken to that which is and has always been true.

I love the Catholic Church and all that she does to hold the rock of our faith tradition. She is a beacon of light that this world needs AND we all fall short of the glory of God. To label oneself Catholic, Christian, Buddhist or Jewish, etc is something the ego does to create a sense of identity…this becomes a Log in our eye when we assert that our path to knowing and loving God is THE path - even if we ourself believe that to be true (why would we not if we hold to our belief system!) . Our knowing always fall short of the full truth. God is greater than the limitations of this kind of thinking. There are as many paths to God as their are people.
No, that’s not what I meant. Jesus and Christ are not two different people. Christ is not a last name – Christ means the anointed one. This conversation is going in circles and I can see where the problems lie. You do not accept that Jesus is His Church even though the Bible says so. You insist that Catholicism is something else, to be put in quotes. So really this boils down to the fact that you just don’t agree with the Church that Jesus Christ founded. You only agree to take from the Church, The Bible and ditch the rest. Jesus (and Catholic Mystics) do insist on the Catholic Church. All salvation comes through the Church even if a person never knew the Church, they still receive their salvation through the Church. This is where you may have misunderstood some mystics or even Jesus himself. Yes, there are many paths but all paths must go through Christ’s Church which is Catholicism. You pit the so-called “Catholic container” against Jesus as if they are two different things. Not so! Jesus is his church. The Bible says so, we’ve been over that already. You pit Catholic against Muslim and Christian. But Catholic is universal. It’s not one of many religions. This where the disconnect lies. Something can not be pitted against itself. Christ’s church offers his Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity!!! There is absolutely no reason in the entire world to “warn” someone against submitting to His Church. You clearly do not accept the Real Presence of Jesus in His Church or you would not make such warnings to people in His midst. I don’t have a “Catholic” membership card in my wallet. But having the Catholic label allows me to receive Jesus Christ in the Eucharist any day of the week in accordance with His law. Why would we do anything other than encourage this path even if it would be possible to have salvation through the Church another way. The desire to receive Him now is too strong. And I want every person on this earth to be able to have that life within them!

It is my hope and prayer that when the Anti-Christ forms his church on earth (the one-world relilgion that is prophesied in the Bible, which will NOT be Christian), that we may all unify and become soldiers of Christ/God to fight His last fight against Satan… Not Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, etc., but all as Christians, followers of Christ, with all our hearts, souls, and minds.

It is my hope and prayer that we can love each other as Christ loves His Church (all faithful who believe in Him and love Him), and that we can love Christ/God as our one and only living God, that we will truly love our neighbors as ourselves, and truly love our enemies (those who do not follow Christ) as ourselves.

It is my hope and prayer that the bickering and judgement will end over who or what denomination is the better Christian fellowship, so that we come as one to glorify His name, and to do our duty as Christians to minister to all who are lost.

It is my hope and prayer that animosity between will end soon, as it surely will. That is inevitable since Christ/God wishes for us all to believe and follow Him. As surely He does not distinguish between the white man, black man, Indian man, Chinese man, or American, British, French, or Japanese, or any other race or nationality, He surely does not distinguish between one follower from another.

We are gravely mistaken if we think He does.

May God Bless you and keep you all in His loving arms today and for the rest of your lives.

I have an idea to help you with your “hope and prayer” - how about you and the Lutherans and Methodists and Baptists, etc. giving up your split from the Catholic Church. Come back home to begin the unity right now. Give up the dissention that your predecessors had when they walked away from unity.

John, in the end, there will be one unified body of Christ’s Church, without distinction between denominations.

I am sorry, but I cannot, in my own mind, accept praying to Mary or believing she is the perpetual virgin or mother of all of God’s kingdom; nor do I think reciting written prayers over and over are true spiritually inspired prayers to God from an individual’s heart (the Bible says not to do that); nor do I believe that the Pope and the Catholic Church are infallible; nor do I agree with calling the Pope, Cardinals, Bishops, or Priests “Father” because there is only one Father, who is God. I was simply indoctrinated to oppose those things as legitimate faith and worship of God.

Often, the verses used to defend these things are interpreted in such a way as to legitimize Catholic dogma/doctrine/theology. Yet, more often than not the literal words in these verses do not actually say what the Catholic Church says they do. I am also concerned with believing what is written in the Catechism before believing what the Bible actually says. It is almost always a matter of interpretation, thus, it is an arguable truth.

My BA in college was literary studies. I read works and critiqued them. I could always find something written somewhere by someone of authority to defend my thesis. My point is that it was my interpretation of the work, and I always defended it very well. I graduated magna cum laude.

I know that I am ignorant with regard to all Catholic dogma/doctrine, however, I just want to be a simple and humble servant, a Christian who believes in Him with all my heart, soul and mind. I want to be a member of Christ’s Church without distinction of who is a better Christian, of who is right all the time, or wrong all the time. I just don’t think that is in the spirit of Christianity.

Protestants do the same thing that Catholics do: always arguing over who is right or wrong about the correct interpretation of one single verse in the Bible (usually out of context). This is very upsetting to me. If the words were inspired by God, spoken by Jesus, and recorded by Christ’s Apostles, then why are we arguing?

Why did Protestants protest against the Catholic Church? At the time, they thought that they had very good and legitimate reasons. They protested against the political power and damnation of people who challenged the Church on some things that the Church at that time were doing to people. They wanted to learn and worship the Lord our God the way Christ described in His words to us. Now look at us! Now there are thousands of “christian” denominations in the world! It is so disheartening. What are we doing? To me it is the same as prejudicial wars between whites and blacks. Who is a better human and who is not? Who has legitimate rights to walk on the same pavement, drink from the same fountain, or eat together in the same restaurant? Who is smarter than the other? These prejudisms, unfortunately, still exist today.

I know without a shadow of a doubt that one day, when the Anti-Christ comes to set up his church on earth, we WILL have to ALL come together as one unified body of Christ to fight the good fight against Satan, and that we will win that fight!

So, now can we all get on with praising Him, glorifying His name, staying in His word so that we can always learn more, and love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ? Can we all pray for the salvation of those who are truly lost, the ones who do not know God at all? Can we all work together in bringing those souls to Christ for their eternal salvation?

That is my hope and prayer. I am not going to argue about who is right or who is wrong anymore. To me, if we claim to be Christians, then we should all be charitable and loving toward each other.

I love the Catholic Church, and its members, for they do wonderful works in the name of the Lord. They always have, and I pray they always will. Just let me, and other Christians, also glorify Him and do our best to bring more souls to Christ. That is our free will. Nevertheless, it is all based on the same Bible. We all believe in the same God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. We all try our best, as sinners, to do God’s will in our daily lives.

Please be benevolent and kind to everyone. No one has a right to judge or condemn another. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and we are all fighting the good fight on the same side.

This is my goal in life. This is my dedication to Him. It is my duty, what Jesus commanded me to do. What is yours?

The division is tearing us apart.

You believe in the literal interpretation of the Bible? What do you make of John 6:53?

Yes, Kelly, I do. Of course there are parables and allegories (stories) to teach us how to apply God’s teachings in our own lives (like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, or the Cat in the Hat teach children how to behave and relate to others). But when a verse(s) of scripture is written as Jesus spoke it, and by the Apostles who taught it, I don’t think there is anything more needed to tell us what we are supposed to do to obey Him.

The Bible is pretty cut and dried about what we are supposed to do to have the salvation that Christ shed his blood and died on the cross to give us. It is very simple: Believe in Him, have faith in Him, and give your life to Him with all your heart, soul, and mind. Be Baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Partake of the Holy Eurcharist in communion with Him. We are all sinners so we must confess to Him and He will forgive us. He wipes those sins away immediately, and forgets them. We must try to praise Him and glorify Him in everything that we do and say. We must tell everyone we can about the Good News of salvation through Him.

I don’t think we should scare people to death about every little thing to get them to come to believe in the Lord. I don’t think we should put a lot of rules and regulations on them. I don’t want to yell “Hell Fire & Damnation” to them if they don’t do this or that. I think that we should give them a Bible and encourage them to study with someone of greater knowledge. I think we should encourage them to join a Bible-based church so they can be in fellowship with other Christians.

But most of all, I think we should love everyone equally, regardless of who they are or what they believe. I want to be a positive influence on the people I meet by showing them what a Christian does and says, an example of Christianity. I want to talk to them gently about the greatest love of all, God’s love for us.

If not being a Catholic means that all I do and say is in vain, then so be it. I think the God I adore and worship loves me just the way I am.

Yeah, no one is suggesting you scare anyone or proclaim fire and brimstone. You say that the Bible is cut and dry yet you just mentioned that you are disheartened by the thousands of Christian denominations. Do you not realize that every single one of those 30,000+ Protestant denominations was started b/c each believed THEY were the ones who were interpreting the Bible accurately. And yet each one professes something different about salvation. By your own evidence, when you try to be “bible based” and make yourself your own Pope, it’s not a simple message at all.

Why do you think a church should be bible based? The Bible does not say that at all. Additionally, what church are you receiving the Eucharist in? Who prepares the Eucharist that you receive?

It is my opinion that you don’t need an actual response. Particularly if you are looking for a comeback, a defense.

Just love. Just love. And listen, as in “if there is a story there, I’d like to hear it” All battles are not won through debate, through finding the “right” words. Love. Let go. Let God…

Does this mean you won’t be answering the questions I’ve asked you?

I felt called to come back to this thread and post to you again on some matters you have stated before, especially when it comes to your selection of the scripture stating to call no man father. Do you call your own dad father? Do you object to others calling their biological father, their father? If so, how does this resonate with your simple message without a lot of rules? If not, is it just the calling of a spiritual father, father, that you object to? If so, can you explain why various figures did so in the New Testament? What do you make of Paul in 1 Corinthians 4:14-15:

"14 I am not writing this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. 15 For though you might have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers. Indeed, in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel".

It sounds like you’ve relied on a personal interpretation instead of understanding the Bible in and through the Church as it was always meant to be interpreted. That’s why the Bible didn’t just fall out of the sky but rather was compiled and canonized by the Catholic Church. When you come up with a private interpretation that goes against the Church and well over a thousand years of Christian thought, as is the case with what you are saying about “Call no man father”…what do you make of 2 Peter 1:20?

“20 First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”

  1. Yes, I realize that the various denominations are influenced by different interpretations and beliefs in the Bible’s teachings. However, that does not mean that they are all not Christians. It just means that they are using free will to praise God in their own ways. Do I condemn them? Absolutely not.
  2. I would NEVER EVER EVER make myself leader of Christ’s Church. That is the Pope’s position on earth. To see to it that the Christian Faith is maintained throughout the world.
  3. The Bible does lay out a clear-cut and simple path to salvation…Believe in Jesus Christ.
  4. A church that is based on the teachings of the Bible maintains that the Bible is our instruction book on how to live our lives as Christians.
  5. At present, I am sad to say that I am disabled and cannot get to a church to receive the Eucharist. That is very depressing to me.
May God rain down his blessings upon you, Kelley, so that your faith and love in God are constant and unwavering. May God give you understanding and compassion of your Christian brothers and sisters everywhere around the world. May He give you strength so that you can go out and fight the Good Fight. May He bless your family and friends with your presence as a child of God.

I agree that this does not mean they are all not Christians and I too do not condemn them.
  1. Please allow me to clarify that I was not making that accusation against you personally but rather speaking in generalities. That was a “general you”, not you personally.
  2. There are many thousands of Protestant denominations that would disagree as evidenced by your own remarks. I can provide links to Pastors of various denominations making contradictory statements if you would like to see. Even the Bible does not say what you claim here. The devil believes in Jesus yet there is no salvation for the devil. The Bible says that one must also keep his commands and do the will of the Father (John 14:21, Matthew 7:21).
  3. The Bible never says that it is our instruction book on how to live our lives as Christians. Where did you get that idea and on whom’s authority?
  4. I am very sorry that you are unable to receive at this time. My prayers go out to you. Is it not possible for someone to bring the Eucharist to you? This is what we do in my Church for those who are unable to come due to illness/disability/etc. Regardless, in theory, if you were able to come, where would you go to receive the Eucharist and who would prepare it?
Thank you so much for your prayers for me! I very much appreciate them!

1, Great! We agree on something!
2. Thankyou for that.
3. That is exactly why I became a non-denominational Christian. I am sooo tired of all the bickering and confusion and hatefulness between all of the different denominations, including Catholics, that I just want to study the Bible and do my best to be a good Christian follower.
4. Well, no it does not say in the Bible that it is our instruction book, but it is assumed by Christians to be the words of God and words to live by.
5. I would go to a non-denominational church and have the Eucharist blessed by the minister in the name of the Holy Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I would receive it as I receive Christ, and again devote myself to Him with all my heart, soul, and mind.

Kelley, just because I don’t agree with some of the Catholic ways of doing things, it does not mean that I reject the Catholic Church entirely. I believe that without the Catholic Church, the Christian faith might have died. I honor the Church for giving us 2000 years of knowledge and understanding of God/Christ. I honor the Pope for his devotion to the Church. I respect people who are devout members of their churches and help the poor and the hungry. I give thanks that the Church is out there trying to save souls from everlasting damnation through the endless efforts of Satan himself.

I just watched a program of Billy Graham, an evangelist, who spoke to a crowd of people in a giant stadium. He spoke about God’s love, and how Jesus’ blood was poured out for the forgiveness of our sins and the promise of salvation. He invited the people to come down to the front to annouce their faith and receive the blessings from God, the Father. Hundreds came down to the front. It was amazing to see how many people who were lost had found Jesus.

I just want to love you, and all of my brothers and sisters in Christ, without conditions or blame. I want to show everyone how glorious it feels to be a Christian. What happiness and joy and peace can come into your heart and mind when you know that God is taking care of you.

I created a video about when I “died”. I was in a coma and went to Heaven. God spoke to me and told me that it was not my time because He still has work for me to do. I saw my husband, and he told me that I had to go back, but that he would be waiting there for me. I was in a coma for several weeks, and only awoke after my brother-in-law prayed over me. When I woke up, I did not remember anything but that experience - not what was wrong with me or why I was in ICU. I have died twice since then, and the doctors have been able to revive me (those paddles hurt).

I would like for you to watch it and tell me what you think.

Oh, and regarding #3. What about John 3:16, or when Jesus says that no one will go to Heaven except through Him? I take these verses literally, and with great emphasis on how I will receive salvation.

Am I wrong again?

… I am concerned with believing what is written in the Catechism before believing what the Bible actually says.
Catholic doctrine & the Catechism were not written to define something new, but to explain what was happening since the day of Pentecost. When a “new” gospel was invented by someone, or someone complained that they did not think they should have to believe the same as everyone else, the Catholic Church met together (the Apostles met together) to write down clearly about that particular issue for all generations to come. That is what happened at the first council in Jerusalem, when some wanted to force the Gentiles to be circumcised. And the first doctrine was issued as a letter by the council and sent out with the church representatives as they visited Gentile congregations. That is also what happened when congregations began to bring in spurious books to their worship in the 4th century, I believe, and the Church met together (official successors of the Apostles, having authority to make such decisions) and picked out the 73 books of the bible, and cast away all the spurious books. For 1500 years the church had the bible of the Catholics (300 years prior to official selection, plus 1200), And the bible that you, personally, have today was the decision of Martin Luther or protestants of England, who did not have the literary tools of today to critique manuscripts, but going on their private interpretations of Scripture (which St. Paul condemned) - Luther explicitly stated this as his reasoning (the books he removed did not fit his interpretation of Scripture, his definition of Justification by Faith Alone).
When we believe the Catechism, we are not believing a new doctrine, as Luther’s teaching was new that there are really only 66 valid books in the bible. We are believing what the Church believed since Pentecost and was put into text when that undocumented belief was challenged by people like Luther. Actual History : 73 books individual containers to 4th cent.; 73 books in one book to 16th cent.; Council of Trent doctrinal statement that it is indeed 73 books -16th cent. to today. It is the Protestants who have had to find some way of saying they know better that the Church was wrong until Luther fixed things.
I know that I am ignorant with regard to all Catholic dogma/doctrine…, I just want to be … a member of Christ’s Church …
Ignorance can be used as an excuse for sin to a point. But in matters of faith / life, especially for one who is intelligent, disposed toward scholastic research, ignorance is a sin.
I am also an educated person in theology, as a Lutheran, and also wanted truth and participation in Christ for decades, but in my Lutheran background, I could not see finally any “legitimate participation” in the Church and Christ of the Gospels. You yourself, if you are truly a literary scholar, know that there is nothing in the Bible written to you, but only to the addressed audiences. And the only way people became Christians in the Bible was in contact either with Jesus or with the officials he had sent, and then in Acts, with the officials that Jesus’ Sent Officials also sent. And people believed Everything these secondary sent officials told them. And when, in Acts there were encountered people preaching who were not sent, you have example of them being cornered and trained by the sent officials and then being allowed to continue preaching. Today, our only legitimate contact with the Church of the Bible, of the First Century, is to find one of those sent officials and say, “Here is water; is there anything to prevent you from baptizing me; I want to be a member of Christ’s Church with you.” I found that legitimate sent official when I came to take Jesus’ seriously in appointing Peter as Rock, and understood Apostolic Succession is true. The bible is not written “to me” directly, but to its original audience and I do not have to do violence to it by saying it is to me. Those to whom it was written, the proper owners of the content given them in the texts, have the right, authority, granted by Jesus, to grant the content to others. This continual passing on of what was received is only correct if it is by the current owner of the content giving it to the one intended. So I became Catholic, asking to be welcomed home into the Church as passed down from the beginning. When Luther, et.al., protested and left the church, they carried off the content, stripped out some of it, and passed it on to you in contradiction of the content owners who gave it to them. But they lost legitimate connection participation and, so, had to invent variations of personal appropriation of Christianity.
Again, ignorance is a sin. I understand Lutheran teaching intimately, and Catholic, and can identify the errors. You are saying in one sentence that you are ignorant of all Catholic Doctrine, yet in other sentences you call it error (Marian devotion and understanding, formulary prayers).
Why did Protestants protest against the Catholic Church?
… No one has a right to judge or condemn another…
The Catholic Church is calling all to return from self-defined theologies and doctrines and gospels to the officially received tradition and scriptures. The Bible is the official property of the Catholic Church. Anyone else who has it took copies from the Church when they (their predecessors) left the Church in protest. And then did whatever they thought was expedient with that book to fit their protests.

I don’t care to judge anyone, Luther in particular, but I do care about truth and participation in the Kingdom of God. I do not condemn Luther, either, but think of him in Heaven actually supporting me with his prayers to continue with my work of calling people to participation in the Kingdom of God, legitimate participation. I think he is finally standing beside St. Thomas Aquinas and together they are doing this.

John Martin

Heretics have been claiming to be the real Christians for 18 or 19 hundred years. That’s why Saints Irenaeus and Augustine saw fit to warn people if they are traveling not to ask where the Christian church is or where the Christians are, but to ask where the Catholic church is. Of course it was different heretics back then, but I suppose there isn’t much new under the sun, as they say.

I am a Christian as i put my faith in Christ alone and not the mighty Catholic Church.

Hi Kelly, looks like Catholicism in your country differs in teaching to ours here in the Philippines since we were never taught that Jesus alone saves…not until i have read the Bible, the very book you Catholics proudly say has given Christians. However, i have noticed also that Catholics looks up to Catechism which is made by men rather than the Bible, the word of God. Made me wonder then why Catholics are resistant to the Bible, which you said you gave us and yet lean more on the Catechism. Isn’t the Bible enough?

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

That’s why I and my family now put our trust in the Bible ONLY than the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Pope. As being a catholic for almost 40 years, I know what it is being a catholic here in the Phil. We have more version of the Catholic Mary and Saints on our churches and I had my share of kneeling to statues, kissing statues and wiping them with our handkerchief and bringing them home as “lucky charms”. Jesus, would be the last on the list. Ask any Catholic here and surely, I am spot on. But then again, they would be quick to deny it just as I did before.
  • No man outside obedience to the Pope of Rome can ultimately be saved. All who have raised themselves against the faith of the Roman Church and died in final impenitence have been damned, and gone down into Hell. (Pope Clement VI) 1
  • We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff. (Pope Boniface VIII) 3
  • Christ Jesus left you this sweet key of obedience; for He left His Vicar, whom you are all obliged to obey until death. And whoever is outside his obedience is in a state of damnation. (St. Catherine of Siena) 5
Obedience to the Pope(mere mortal, just like you and me) therefore is one name which catholics obey and believe every teaching to assure salvation…less you be an anathema.

How can this Holy Church if indeed holy be responsible for the death of thousands of our ancestors? Philippines was under the Spanish rule for over 300 years and have forced Catholicism to our ancestors, resist Catholicism and the canons of the armada will be upon your village. That’s why the battle of Mactan in Cebu happened, datu Lapu-Lapu resisted this new religion…to which Magellan and his Spanish catholic army fought us but was beaten and he died in the shores here in mactan. I wonder how then the “true church” of Jesus can do such a thing. It may not be the true church of Christ after all!

Matthew 7:17

Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

Catholics just don’t take one thing out of context but rather look at the whole picture. You can’t separate faith from works. – I agree because good works is a result of your true faith. Without true faith, then there is no good works but good works won’t save us. It is by faith in the Lord and no one else(Ephesians 2:8-9). Not through the Catholic Mary, nor baptism, sacraments, being a member of the catholic church, obedience to the pope, not the saints, not the scapular and definitely not a statue of the dancing white sto. Nino which is made of wood nor the dancing sun, a miracle supposedly made by the Catholic Mary which was accepted as a true miracle by the Catholic church here! Stare at the sun and surely it will dance…no miracle, just stupidity and ignorance! And yet, we believe in the power of this Mary before.

I simply call it diluted or confused faith since that was me before, a confused catholic and we number by the millions here. We were taught to trust so many things in order to gain salvation and not to question our priest, at the end we were all scratching our heads as to which one it should be…a, b or c?

No need for me to come to the Philippines b/c I can just open my Catechism to know what is taught by the Catholic Church. – Again I am just confused why Catholics(including myself before) rely on the cathechism and not the Bible, the very book as you said the Catholics gave the Christians. Even our family priest didn’t suggest to us to read the Bible, he said it will just confuse us!

Why is it that you are wanting to pit Mary against Jesus and His Church? Mary’s role is to bring us closer to Jesus. – it is the Catholic teaching that pits Mary against Jesus. That’s why there are so many here in the Philippines that pray to the Catholic Mary and not to the Lord Jesus Christ, entrusting their salvation to her. Again, you can’t argue with me on that, I was once like that. How can Mary bring us closer to Jesus, any verse we can look up?

It is Jesus that saves us from the fires of hell however we ask for Mary’s intercession. – How can Mary be an intercessor?

CC969 - Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix."

However the Bible tells us differently:

1 Timothy 2:5

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.

I do noticed catholics cling to this verse making Mary as an intercessor:

John 2:5

His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

“Do whatever he tells you”!!!, this is what the real mother Mary said but do we follow what Jesus instructs us? Maybe this verse would help:

Luke 11: 27-28

27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.”
28 He replied, “Blessed RATHER are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Jesus instructed us to listen to the word of God, which is the Bible(Again Catholics gave the Christians as you and many more catholics ALWAYS PROUDLY say) and obey it. I don’t read any verse after that that Jesus said blessed also are those who hear the Catechism of the Catholic Church and obey it. This would have been the right time for Jesus to say, yes you need to pray also to my mother for she is blessed but He said “RATHER…”.

I have noticed a common trend that Protestants do not call Mary blessed but Catholics do. – Sorry but you are mistaken, I think the protestants who sees the Bible as the true word of God believe the real mother Mary as blessed but never the Catholic Mary which was invented to steer millions of souls away from Jesus Christ.

Luke 1:42

In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!

Is Jesus far away that we have to ask help for this Mary? A mediatrix for the mediator? Not to mention the many saints who are also little intercessors. As we jokingly say here in the the Phil when confused “sino ba talaga kuya?!”

***Yes, Jesus is Mary’s savior too! ***– How can she need a savior when Vatican teaches that the catholic Mary is free from sin?

CC966 - "Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin,

If not from sin, then save her from what? I am now more confused of you statement since you are saying differently from what CC966 teaches. If she never sinned, why then need a savior?

Here is a prayer we did before as a family here in the Philippines that we no longer pray since we’ve seen the truth. It is the Novena our Lady of Fatima:

We all want to be saved by Mary. Then we must also listen to her, how she will save us – page 11

I have yet to find a verse in the Bible that says Mary can save us, can you please help? But millions upon millions of Filipino catholics are misled with this prayer. They put their trust now on the statue of Catholic Mary which is made of powder, that’s why I remembered Matthew 7:14 so fitting to our catholic landscape here in the Phil.

She was a lady all in white, more brilliant than the sun, dispensing a light, clearer and more intensive than a cup full of crystalline water penetrated by the rays of the most glaring sun – page 43

2 Corinthians 11:14 - And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

Satan is the great deceiver and can transform into a bright light as in the Lady of Fatima, which instructs us to devote our selves to her, which clearly is not in the Bible but has warned us of these things.

TO SAVE SOULS FROM HELL, GOD WISHES TO ESTABLISH IN THE WORLD DEVOTION TO MY IMMACULATE HEART. MY IMMACULATE HEART WILL BE YOUR REFUGE AND THE WAY THAT WILL LEAD YOU TO GOD.
– FATIMA. 1917

Even Pope Francis entrust his papacy to the Catholic Mary and not to Jesus Christ. How then can you love God with ALL your heart, with ALL your mind and with ALL your soul(Luke 10:27) if you entrust even a percent to the Catholic Mary and others? If you do, you are disobeying mother Mary’s instruction to us on John 2:5!

Lastly, i do have a question for you, do you believe that salvation is for the Muslims as well?
