The Holy Rosary of the blessed Virgin Mary is more powerful than an atomic bomb. It is the weapon that ties Satan up and destroys his power or evil influence. He freaks out whenever there are individuals that are praying the Rosary. Pray it every single day of your life and you’ll see how your life changes and how your faith consolidates itself.

How to pray it:

Make sure you invoke the Holy Spirit before praying it. Enjoy!👍

At night when I pray the rosary with my grandson, I tell him to “go get our weapons!” He knows exactly what I mean. (I have 'em hanging on a peg by my bed.) 😉

That’s a good way of putting it. Nice. It’s like saying, “I got the power!”😃

I have had an item listed on my local craigslist for a month. I re-listed it Tuesday, and on the way to work, I prayed the Rosary. After the rosary, I asked Our Lady for her intercession in offering my prayer to God The Father that someone buys the item if it be His will.

20 minutes later, I got a call from a nice man who is buying the item. 🙂

There were only two times I have ever asked for anything when praying the rosary outside of a general intention, and both times it was given to me.

Once was when my grandmother was in a nursing home and she was taken off the dozens of meds she had collected and she was going through withdrawal and suffering delusions. Her condition deteriorated greatly to the point where we thought we were going to lose her. I asked the Blessed Virgin to intercede on our behalf, that my grandmother would at least be lucid before He took her. For her 81st birthday, she was completely lucid and enjoyed the popsicles we brought. That night, she died peacefully in her sleep.

Then, last year, my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which only has a 5% survival rate. The night before he was to undergo surgery, I pulled out my rosary and cried the whole time I prayed it. I couldn’t even ask for what I wanted, but I know the Blessed Virgin knew what it was I was asking for, and my father survived.

I know that non-Catholics have trouble understanding the reasons we all know the Catholic Church to be the fullness of truth, but if only one of them honestly prayed the rosary just one time, with the fullness of their faith in God and Christ and asked the Blessed Virgin to intercede to let them know the truth, that one person would know the truth. We have a powerful weapon in our arsenal against evil. I just wish they didn’t hurt so much when my grandmother hit me with them when I was younger and kept interrupting her as she was “prayin’ her beads!”

Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

How do you do this? If you don’t invoke the Holy Spirit is it less effective?

I haven’t had any material results from the rosary. Then again, I’m greedy and ask for a lot in prayer and I don’t really deserve anything.

I would like this answered too.

I don’t pray the rosary very much. I know I should and I see threads like this and I know its meant for me. So… please… I need details on the right thing to do when praying the rosary.

It’s more helpful and highly recommended. I guess it will be less effective in the sense that there would be the absence of an important person while praying the Rosary: The holy Spirit who is God and has an important role in our life. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and helps us mature spiritually. It brings illumination and purity to our souls. It can help you in various ways and guide you to answers that you were seeking or couldn’t find.

To invoke the Holy Spirit, simply say a prayer before you do the sign of the cross or when you begin praying the Rosary. It doesn’t really matter when you pray or invoke the presence of the Holy Spirit. It could be right after doing the sign of the cross then invoke the Holy Spirit and finally saying your petition to Jesus or Mary. It’s personal preference. As long as it’s before praying on the first bead of the Rosary which is the one located on top of the cross on any Rosary.

Here is a simple prayer ( remember to pray with the heart) that can help:

Come, Holy Spirit by the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary- Amen. (Repeat 3 times).

Or say:

I invoke the presence of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. Come Holy Spirit and may you accompany me during my prayer of the Holy Rosary. Purify, illuminate, show and teach my soul in the most holy ways. Amen.

It doesn’t really matter how you say the words. Do it as you most like it or helps you the most. As long as you say it by intercession of the Virgin Mary or in the name of Jesus Christ, everything will be fine. You can even make up your own prayer that will be easy for you to remember.😉 God bless you.

1.To be more detailed and helpful, you start by doing the sign of the cross. Then you do an act of contrition (repent your sins) and you talk to Jesus and say for him to forgive you.

Note: Invoke the Holy Spirit before the sign of the cross or afterwards.
  1. Afterwards, you ask any petition to Jesus or Mary through the Holy Rosary. Examples include, take care of my family, for the poor, sick, my daughter, my marriage, business healing or anything.
  2. Then you start with the ‘creed’ (while your hand is on the cross of the Rosary) and then put your fingers on the first bead of the Rosary and say an ‘Our Father’ prayer.
  3. Then you start saying three ‘Hail Mary’s’ to the three beads that are in the Rosary.
  4. Then say a ‘Glory be’ on the next bead.
  5. Finally read the first mystery ( there are websites that have the mysteries for each day of the week and weekened) and start by saying an ‘Our Father’. From there, you will start the on ten beads which are ‘Hail Marys.’ Pray a ‘Glory be’ on the bead that is between each ten beads.
Note: Continue reading the the rest of mysteries as you advance throughout the Rosary.
  1. To end it you return to the begenning and pray for the intentions of the pope and there are other prayers that are said when reaching the end.
Note: Read the mysteries first before praying an ‘Our Father’. To know the prayers and get a better idea I recommend visiting some websites.

I’ll give you these ones:

Prayer Warriors: ARM THINE SELVES.

Bless Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes, Pray for Us. Our Lady of Fatima, Pray for Us.

I pray the rosary daily to the Blessed Virgin in general. On her specific feast days, I address the rosary to that specific apparition or title. Ie, Immaculate Heart, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Guadalupe, etc.

I am very new to the catholic faith but I find The Rosary to be the most beautiful and helpful prayer. It has brought me great peace and comfort

Hey.

When you say the Hail Holy Queen, (if you say the Hail Holy Queen), do you replace the “pray for us O Holy Mother of God”, with the appropriate title? When I went to Holy Rosary parish, we often said, “pray for us O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary”, especially for public rosaries in church.

Thanks,

Rory

You can skip that verse and response altogether. It’s (generally) not included when the Salve is sung.

Dominicans (at least my chapter) say “Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us.” We also have a different way of starting the Rosary.

I pray the rosary daily, it brings me great peace.
In May, our church began taking a statue of Mary to people’s home each week and many of us gather at that home and pray the rosary. So many folks wanted Mary to visit (she stays in the home for 1 week) that we are still doing this weekly and will probably continue for quite a while. It’s a wonderful thing.
But I have a question. We have much diversity at our church, American, Mexican, Philipino, folks from Guam, France and several other countries.
Anyhow, I notice when some of our members from other countries cross themselves each time we say the Glory Be while praying the rosary, some then kiss their crucifix and some kiss their thumbs. I have meant to ask them about this, but I keep forgetting to do so. So I was wondering if anyone here could enlighten me and explain this to me. 🙂
Thanks in advance. 🙂
