Deut 13: 6-10.
It was written under the very distracting picture and the inserted broom must have been fairly distracting too. Perhaps time accustoms people to that?

This is one of *hundreds *of hatefilled verses, as you very well know, unless you havnt read a bible in your life.

New excuse please?
I guess you didn’t read an earlier post - not one Jew has done anything like that in about two millenium. Christians are not taught that at all. Both have gone through stages that bad men have done bad things - we do not do that anymore. And when a bad man does do a bad thing our Judeo-Christian laws give the perpetrator a trial and mete out punishment, if necessary.

I am not going to go into Judaism, but in Christianity I think you should go to the base teachings of Jesus Christ and the base teachings of mohammed. There you will find the differences in the message and what each has to tell its adherents to follow.

What do you not understand about the past versus the present where if muslims ‘claim’ to be of the Bible and Abrahamic (I don’t believe they are, but that is what they claim) then they should not be doing the same either - but mohammed told them to keep doing those things.

I guess if you want to learn things via cartoons and not think about things then that is fine. Don’t assume everyone wants to view poorly drawn cartoons with only one verse without the other verses around it. I am not going to go to some cartoon, get a verse, then go to that verse and go find it. You want to assert something then YOU provide an easily accessible Bible verse.

Tommy, you claim to be a monotheist in your profile. Since you hate Jesus, YHWH, and Allah so much, you must worship a different single god - who is it?

Ruthie

“And it’s Tommy this, and Tommy that, and Tommy…”

The Same God

Do all religions worship the same God? Frederica doesn’t like the way the question is posed. Find out why in this episode.
No.

In as much as any one religion worships God as described by the (Catholic) Church, it does worship God, but anything (or things) they worship which is not described as God by the Church is some demonic thing which will bring “not good stuff” upon them for their worshipping it or them.

So, to find out if any one religion is worshipping God correctly in part, as ONLY the Church (Catholic) worships God wholly correctly, one only needs to check with the Church as to how that religion is “doin’ it wrong”.

Since “monotheism” is a category, and not a religion, Tommy’s “god” is most likely Tommy writ LARGE and extended into the cosmos for us all to marvel at.

Tommy is very “anti-suffering”, and his “god” is the “god” of “progress toward eliminating suffering from all mankind”.

What sort of “religion” does that sound like to you? 🙂

I dont hate Jesus Allah or Yahweh, the last two dont exist so theres no point and the first was simply a poor carpenter who went down the prophethood career like thousands of his contemperys and lucked out.

The Monotheist in my tag is I beleive there was some initial force that started events. Wether this was a sentinent force i dont know, but i doubt it and its certainly not around now. Agnostic-deist would be a much better description, and i’ll alter that in my profile to avoid confusion.

R-not, You talk about bad things by bad people. What is this?
These people were simply following “god’s” commands. Is that a bad thing? Was god wrong? When Jesus/ Yahweh ordered stonings and killings or carried them out himself, where was the “evil” in this? If stoning the child is evil, why did Jesus command it? (or was that particular part of the trinity on holiday that day?)

The link I gave, whilst not to your obviously high artistic standards, is neither a “cartoon” nor “badly drawn”. Its a Lego sculpture and had not the “one quote” but the full passage, with illustrations for context, you obviously clicked off it straight away in asthetic disgust before actually reading it.
No matter. You now have the verse, and lets concentrate on that one. In it Jesus orders the stoning of your whole family for beleif in another god.

Why would “loving jesus meek and mild” (T.M) do that?

Well, since the Israelites kept getting things wrong, and God kept trying to lead them in the right path, it seems to me they must also have gotten the application of that command wrong. So God came in the Person of Jesus to show them how to correctly interpret His commands.

They “got things wrong” when they diddnt kill enough for jesus’s pleasure…

1 Samuel 15:12-32

Their instructions were very clear. Complete **Final Solution **to the Cannenite problem. Even *Hitler *diddnt tell his Totenkoft SS to kill the jews’s cattle and pets.

Deuteronomy 7:2-16

But whats a beleiver to do? God tells you to do something. Like take a census of the people, and then curses you and kills tens of thousands for doing what your told.

2 Samuel 24:1

With Yahweh/Jesus, you simply cant win. He is far far too psychotic.

The amazing thing is, any one of you would condem genocide and wars of aggression. Imagine a nation slaughtering its way through a peaceful neighbour killing literally every thing that breathed, because “god told them to do it”. You would consider them mad or, if your into fairy tales, that their interpretation of god was wrong.
Now if that God is Jesus, its suddenly fine.

Oh yeah, Jesus said some nice things. “love your brother like yourself”, Nothing that anyone else couldnt have said, but he had the biggest audience apparently. Now let us Imagine Pol Pot saying such words. Do we ignore his actions because he has mumbled some humanistic niceties?
Can you Ignore that the same spirit that killed *every single baby *in Egypt because he “forced their leader” to have a “hard heart” is less than a couple of millenia later bouncing kids on his knee and considered the most perfect loving entity ever?

Ah. So, AgnosTheist is back! 🙂

Welcome “home”.

Please get back on the subject of the thread.

Thanks~!

God bless-

The punishment was not for HAVING another religion but for STEALING another’s religion! Read the passages.

Don’t you think it sensible for a people who carries the “jewel of GREATEST worth” (revealed [by God Himself] monotheism, aka “the ONLY base truth in the area of real religion”) to punish an attempt to “steal” that jewel, which is attempted theft of that people’s very IDENTITY, with a not-very-unusual and contextually very appropriate infliction of the thiefs ability to “will” (ie “act in this life”)?

God knows, as did any Israelite at the time who was paying the least attention, that the end of this earthly “will allowing” life is not the end of a person’s LIFE, but only the end of a person’s ability to will.

The CRIME of “identity theft” is rewarded with forfeiture of the ability to act in this world under your own identity.

(( The passage is also an excellent example of Hebrew hyperbole. ))
