Does the Shroud of Turin, stigmata and even exorcisms strengthen your faith? Or do you dismiss these phenomenons?
Yes to all threeDoes the Shroud of Turin, stigmata and even exorcisms strengthen your faith? Or do you dismiss these phenomenons?
Yeah I agree brother. The study of these is truly amazing.Yes to all three![]()
The shroud is an interesting piece. I read where the shroud is true and then the article proceeded to prove that it really was true. The next thing I know, it isn’t true with proof for that. Then the next article says… and then the next … It’s like a toggle switch. I’ve come to the point of being neutral, but it is still interesting.Does the Shroud of Turin, stigmata and even exorcisms strengthen your faith? Or do you dismiss these phenomenons?
You don’t have to have any faith in the Shroud but I think it would be foolish not to. Although I confess it doesn’t do much for me. I’m pretty much of a skeptic on things like that and flying priest and nuns too. The stigmata is not necessarily a sign of holiness, so again I stay away form these things. Exorcisms are real enough because Christ and the Apostles were casting out demons all the time. But I don’t see how the mere fact that they still go on would strengthen one’s faith. My faith would be increased more if we lived in a world where they weren’t called for. If you want to strengthen you faith, go to daily mass as often as you can, receive the sacraments regularly, have a regular and deep prayer life, avoid occasions of sin, see how you can help the parish, the poor, etc. You don’t need any more unless your confessor suggests more.Does the Shroud of Turin, stigmata and even exorcisms strengthen your faith?
