I watched the Simpson’s a couple of times ‘derned’ if I could make heads of tails out of it. I just didn’t get the jokes.

some of my favourite qoutes from the simpsons.

Homer: once you go vatican you never go back again

Homer to catholic preist : " I’m sick of you catholics and your time tested doctorines(sp)"

between marge and a snobisih protestant after marge found out homer and bart are in catholic heaven.

Marge " i Don’t like the idea of my family being seperated, Where is Jesus i want to have a word with him?"
Protestant " O he has gone native."
And they show Jesus enjoying himself with the catholics.

Season 7 has been released.
Simpsons are still better than a lot of other shows that are on now.

I never cared for the show. Some episodes were funny, but the amount I’ve watched it since it has been on the air amount to about
perhaps 15 episodes. I just don’t care for it. Never really have.

The Simpsons rock, and it’s evident in the fact it has been on for over a decade now…will you people leave well enough alone…

Sorry - I don’t like it and I vote and I also vote with my pocketbook. So I will let the sponsors know that I will not buy their product if they sponsor immoral, indecent, low values, PC shows. And that’s just the way it is.

i just think it’s stupid and if i sat down to watch it that’d be at least 1/2 hour of my life i wouldn’t get back. what a waste. but i do know that i wouldn’t let my kids watch it - i think it’s more for adults

Bobby A. Greene:
The Simpsons, like Married With Children, is an anti-family sit-com which I find offensive.
Wow! I think Simpsons is the most pro-family show on television. Homer is so in love with Marge, after all these years, he would die for her. He still sees her as beautiful as the first day they met. He still can’t believe she married him. She considered giving him up once and his argument for being taken back was “I need you more than anyone else in the world needs you”

In every 3rd or 4th episode there is a touching scene (if you are spiritually ready to be touched) where Marge and Homer show their loving concern for each other and the kids.

pro -family? only if your father spends 1/2l of his time in the bar drinking and his first priority is himself and he spends the other 1/2 of his time degrading his kids i guess you could call it pro family.

my husband watches it every Sunday night - he’s a big homer fan - or maybe just a big homer.

it’s just not my type of a show - i go more for the soprano’s or six feet under - carnivale - no L word though. or did you ever see showtime’s dead like me? that was great. I wouldn’t have let my kids watch those either. It’s whatever you like - nowdays though i spend most of my time trading spaces, moving up or on hgtv with the house hunters.

👍

I agree with Evan. Those who don’t think the show is pro-family haven’t paid it enough attention. No matter what kind of a mess they wind up in, the family pulls together in the end.

Yes, Homer isn’t the best husband or father, and that is very often what the pro-family episodes centre on: Homer learning to be a better father and husband. Homer comes off as such a typical middle aged man who ignores his family and the show serves to highlight just how much self-absorbed men are missing and provides plenty of food for thought about the value of being family centered.

Homer’s problems always arise out of his self-absorbed and impulsive nature and are always resolved by his turning to his family. That’s a strongly pro-family message.

The show is not a kids’ show, nor was it ever intended as one.

i certainly hope that homer simpson doesn’t represent the middle aged man of america. my father, my husband, my son, my father in law, my brothers, my husbands fellow knights of columbus, my friends, my boss and coworkers are nothing like homer simpson.

if i were a man i’d be insulted.

but again it’s all in perception and we are all unique . i don’t agree with either of you but i respect your opinions

I know far, far too many men who are a lot like Homer Simpson. He really does reflect something of the average secular man that I know. Unfortunately, a few of the Christian men I know as well.

I would be insulted if it didn’t fit my personal observations.

Aww… come on. This show is completely harmless. I watch it every day and walk out happy with laughter. It hasn’t affected my morals, and any child as intelligent as I would not have a problem watching this show. Believe me, many kids are as intelligent as me, and all of them that I know watch this show and interpret it the same way as me: harmless. Lighten up a bit, eh? It’s just TV. It doesn’t dictate our life. 👍
I agree Rick, anyone else… “Dont Have a Cow, Man” and “Eat my Shorts”…The Bart Man Rules 👍

I’m so happy to see so many people voted in favor of the Simpsons. As well as Harry Potter. They are both wonderful. Homer is without a doubt the funniest character on TV. And one could even argue he’s perhaps the cleverist as well.

Amen!

Yeah Yeah Yeah I give up. Homer rules and Barts everyone dream son.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend

The Simpsons should be the least of your wrries and condmning is almost as bad as condmening Harry Potter. You all should be more concerend with shows like South Park. Now there is a show that I found incredibly funny ever since the 8th grade even though it was an absolutley terrible show. I still remember how pissed off our principal was and teachers when she found out the degree to which all of us were watching that show. There was a huge argument since we voted South Park as our favorite show for the 8th grade yearbook and they refused to let us print it unless we picked a differnt show. That whole situation was hilarous but it shows what todays youth enjpy and our seeing at a very young age.

I suppose I never found the show funny and I don’t have a TV. I believe it endorses the wrong attitudes. I would much rather my children were out playing sport or praying or reading than watching an unfunny show of dubious morality

Amen to that sentiment. We should be aiming for perfection. If the Simpsons is pro-family we are seriously reducing the lofty aims of the domestic church
