This year there was in Britain a bloody rain, and milk and butter were turned to blood.
If I understand this correctly, the British use the word “bloody” as a form of curse, kind of like damn rain… and not literally raining blood. I don’t know what to make out of the milk and butter turned into blood but i don’t see that included in the prophesy any ways

Thats true but I think in this case they are actually talking about it raining blood. That said there is a 5 year difference between the event in England and the event following the Battle of Karbala in which Hussein died so the two have no relevance to one another.

It is reported that when Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him) was killed not only the residents of the heavens wept for him, but also the skies cried and wept blood for his martyrdom. This is reported not only in Shi’a books but also in most important Bakri (Sunni) references:

On the day of al-Hussein’s (Peace be upon him) martyrdom, the sky rained blood”. See: Thakhaa’er al-Uqba pp144, 145, 150. Al-Sawaa’eq al-Muhriqah pp116, 192.

There was not a stone which was not lifted but underneath it blood was found”. See: Al-Sawaa’eq al-Muhriqah pp116, 192. Tathkirat-ul-Khawaas p 284, Tafsir ibnKathir vol. 9,p162.

There are many more traditions and references in this respect, and it should be noted that the skies everywhere wept blood for Imam Hussein(Peace be upon him).

Here is another report quoted, which was based in Britain that indicates the skies wept blood for Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him) everywhere:

685. In this year in Britain it rained blood, and milk and butter were turned into blood”. see: The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, Translated, edited by G.N. Garmonsway, Professor of English, King’s College,London.

The year 685ad is the same year which Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him) was martyred in.

The entire anglo-saxon chronicle is maintained online at omacl.org.

“Rains” of unusual things - blood, stones, & the like - are unusual but by no means unknown. It’s bit of stretch - to put it mildly - to associate something remarkable in country A with something remarkable in country B, when there is no antecedent reason to connect them.

The problem is, that anything can be connected with anything. The Pope died in 685 - maybe the “rain” was to mark that. Why was it a rain of blood ? That’s easy - it was a portent of the future attacks of Islam upon Spain (711) & of the miseries to be inflicted on the Christian West by Saracen raiders in the ninth & tenth centuries. 🙂 What could be more appropriate to presage such events than a bloody rain ?

Unlike Hussain, the Popes & England were closely connected. My hypothesis is, I suggest, at least as plausible as the one you offer 🙂

As for 680 - that was just before Constantinople III. A rain of blood would be very fitting, because of the divisions in the Church it failed to heal. And Roman Africa would fall to Islam in 698.

Hold on a minute here. Stop saying “even the Catholic church doesn’t agree with me…” is a totally ridiculous statement.
No. It isn’t. YOU made a JUDGEMENT on a human being that they were in HELL.

onetruecathapos:
The sky rained blood **because Hussain went straight to hell. **Islam is a false religion. Whatever is not of Christ does not exist.
YOU have no right to make that judgement.

The Catholic Church has never ONCE made a JUDGEMENT that ANY human being is in HELL.

That is because the Catholic Church recognises that such JUDGEMENT belongs to GOD ALONE.

YOU have therefor, by making such a JUDGEMENT, have put yourself outside of what even your own church would do. In fact, you have assumed a role that your church reserves for GOD alone.

I would say that is arrogance on a scale hither to unknown to mankind.

Simple really.
**
YOU** have NO RIGHT to pronounce ANYONE in Hell.

That right belongs to GOD alone.

Now, what bit of the above are you struggling with???

Sadam is in hell I’m afraid and I dont find that funny it’s tragic.
The story however was funny.
I can hardly believe God and satan now, can I.

They aren’t talking about Saddam Hussein.

Hussein ibn Ali was the grandson of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad, he was killed in the year 680 AD in a battle in what is now called Iraq.

How would you know anything the Catholic church teaches? YOU ARE NOT CATHOLIC!. If you believe that people who DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD will go to heaven, you go against the Scriptures. YOU ALONE HERE ARE ARGUING WITH ME TELLING ME PEOPLE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD WILL GO STRAIGHT TO HEAVEN. But isn’t that the Protestant standpoint, OSAS?
I do not struggle with anything. I know I am in the church Christ established and you are not. Now who is really struggling here???

**How would you know anything the Catholic church teaches? **

The tone of this question is childish. I am very familiar with what the catholic church teaches.

You actually know very little.

I thought I recognised your screen name so I had a quick check.

Seems I put you straight on apostolic succession and authodoxy a while back 🙂

Now Im teaching you your own churches teachings on God’s Judgement.

Seems like I know a lot more about the catholic church than you do :D:D:D:D:D

What would you like me to correct you on next. 😉

Please show me exactly where I stated people who do not believe in God will go straight to heaven. I never said any such thing. I am argueing that what YOU said, as in that a person is in hell, is wrong, as YOU do not know God’s judgement on that individual.

One again, what I have CLEARLY said, is YOU have judged someone to be in HELL and even the catholic church does NOT teach that any particular individual is in hell. What she teaches is that JUDGEMENT BELONGS TO GOD.

Nor can you see or admit your mistakes it would seem.

You actually know very little.
If you knew what the Catholic church teaches, YOU’D BE IN IT! Apparently, you know NOTHING of the Catholic church by which Jesus Christ founded OR YOU’D BE IN IT! period.

er…Orthodoxy is spelled with an O…you do not need to teach me anything. You can’t even figure out by your profile what even you are…🤷

Come on you guys… how about being a testimony to the unbelievers instead of standing there like quarelling children! this is ridiculous.

To be clear. The Bible was written by the Church… the Ecclesia, written by the olive tree and the adopted olive branches about the sap of life. The Bible is the heart of the Church, saying with absolute infallibility there is no salvation outside of Christ.

We dont know all the unseen ways God leads people to Christ… what is taking place in their hearts or in the last moments of dying… we can have a pretty good idea about whats going on but we cant be sure… therefore we must be humble about the final state of a soul, but not about the only way of salvation, which is Christ Jesus our Saviour.

Peace.

Have you any idea how much people like you, with your attitude, arrogance and presumption put off people like me.

If I WAS curious about the catholic church, one look at you and I’d run a mile to the nearest Bible bashing assembly hall.

You may well be correct about the catholic church, but your attitude, at least how you portray yourself here and your pontification, especially when you continue to pontificate even though you are plainly wrong, does nothing but drive a wedge between anything good you may have to contribute and any potential listener like me.

Grace - Fr. Kolbe 😃

What an awesome human being and man of God.

What kind of love for God and mankind must that man have had in his soul and heart to do what he did. Thanks for drawing my attention to him.

Isn’t the catholic view that non-Christians will go to heaven if they are good, even if they don’t believe in Christ?
Correct. If such person (a) Loves God with all of his/her might, skill, mind, etc (b) Loves other human being as he/she loves him/herself, and (c) cannot do (a) without (b) and vice versa.

That’s because people like you need to come on here and bash people like me, a Catholic. You told me **not to judge **but you are already **judging me. **
