What Josie… do you not like my reaseach from islamic sites… ???😛
I was giving range to my emotions (don’t you love smileys?), each one signifying how I felt while reading your research on Islam.

I had to stop my reasearch because I was starting to get sick over it. 😦

My last post of the fatwa is too much. I just don’t know why our muslim members aren’t submitting comments to the stoning issues. 🤷

I was thinking the same thing too!

**Stoning: Does It Have Any Basis in Shari`ah? **

**Question **- Dear scholars, as-Salamu `alaykum. I have heard that the punishment specified for the person who commits adultery is 80 lashes. I would like to ask, from where did you get the punishment of stoning to death. Moreover, if you say that it is based on the Sunnah, I can say that how to depend on Sunnah in this regard. Isn’t it a fact that the Qur’an is the source of legislation for all Muslims? Jazakum Allah khayran.

**Answer **-
Wa `alaykum As-Salamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

~ snip ~ - Read the link

Coming to the issue of stoning to death as a punishment for married adulterer and adulteress, the statement that there is no verse stipulating that punishment is not correct.

**It is to be made crystal clear that the punishment is explicitly sanctioned by both the Qur’an and the Prophetic Tradition. Before explaining this further, it’s to be stressed that such punishment should not be a cause of wonder, especially when we know that it had been there in the Divine Scriptures revealed before the Glorious Qur’an. **

Of course he must bring the Bible into question… /sarc

All this makes it clear that it was neither Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) nor the glorious Qur’an, revealed to him, brought the capital punishment (as a punishment for adultery) out of the blue.

Being the Seal Prophet, it was his mission to perfect the Divine Message of the Supreme Creator!

The second point that should be borne in mind on this issue is that, as previously refuted, the statement that the Qur’an is silent on this punishment is not genuine.

**Actually, according to renowned Muslim jurists, there was a verse (Ayah) in the Qur’an that talked about this matter. Though the verse was abrogated, but the abrogation here is in wording; the ruling is still kept in force. **

~ snip ~ Read the link - It explains abrogation

**So the point here is: the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is itself a part of revelation. Almighty Allah explains this saying: (And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. **

**And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain (from it). And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is stern in reprisal.) (Al-Hashr 59: 7) **

**Also Allah says: (…then let those beware who withstand the Messenger’s order, lest some trial befall them, or a grievous penalty be inflicted on them) (An-Nur 24: 63). **

According to eminent Qur’an exegetes, this verse serves as a strong warning against deviating from the Tradition of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

**Imam Ibn Kathir says: “The words ‘the messenger’s order’ refer to his Path, teachings, laws and tradition. Thus, all words and deeds should be weighed according to the words and deeds of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the sense that whatever correspond with his words and deeds are accepted and whatever contradicts that should be rejected.” **

The abrogated verse stated that “A married man and woman, if they commit adultery, stone them to death.”

This verse states clearly that the prescribed punishment for adultery, which means an illegitimate sexual intercourse between a married man and a woman married to another man is stoning to death
.

Thanks for all the info. It is a lot to take in.

My range of emotions: :bigyikes::hypno::byzsoc::imsorry::console:

Unbelievable. How could a person deny that these things:

1.) Exsist in the 21st century.
2.) They are perpetuated and substantiated by Islam AND culture equally.
3.) There is no intention on it changing any time soon.

It is quite a bit to take in. These Q&A fatwas on the islamic sites still give such advice.

These discussions have no place in the 21st century. And I ask again, how come none of our muslim members have participated in this.

Planten would say these are man-made laws.

But these fatwas, islamic Q&A, are from today. The difference with Planten is that he is Ahmadi and they don’t believe in this sort of stuff as muslims.

If it’s not in the koran, well then it’s not real. But unfortunately, the islamic muslim world doesn’t work like Planten likes to describe it as a Utopian society.

But then again the sunny and shia muslims don’t believe that Ahamadi’s are muslims. 🤷

Oh Josie… I’m laughing to hard I have tears coming down my face… 😃

I can’t be S. Amy - I can’t think like a muslim convert and I’m not programmed to do so…😃

But it’s easy to be Planten. I can do on other posts and copy his answers…!!! 😛

Hugs and best wishes,
Pam

Josie… If our muslim members have a problem with the fatwas posted for stoning, the question should be is why don’t they go on those fatwa sites and post a serious question such as…

“Stop telling people it’s OK to stone to death”~~~~~!!!

“Stop telling people it’s OK to marry 8 year old girls to older men”~~~~~!!!

“Stop telling people it’s OK to lash someone 100 times for whatever” ~~~~~!!!

“Stop telling people it’s OK to cut some ones hands/feet off for stealing” ~~~~~!!!

“Stop telling people it’s OK to kill apostates”~~~~~~!!!

But alas, they won’t!

:clapping: You definitely lightened the mood!

:bigyikes: But hey, shhhhh, where’d the other thread go? It disappeared!

This is from a news article posted in another thread.

Saudi Arabia’s conservative Muslim clergy have opposed the drive to end child marriages. In January, the kingdom’s most senior cleric said it was permissible for 10-year-old girls to marry and those who believe they are too young are doing the girls an injustice.

Speaks volumes as to why the Muslims on here won’t speak out against Islam as it pertains to these wrongs.

What 10 year-old girl wants to be intimate with a 40 or 50 year old man? Tell me that child is not being held captive.

Now, if she ran away could she possibly face stoning or being otherwise killed? I’d say yes, especially if she was found by another male who out of compassion took her in. So she stays…captive…and raped repeatedly because some old guy wanted her and rightfully PAID for her.

Sick. Just plain sick. Where’s the emoticon for vomit?!

I am convinced that they know it is intellectually wrong, however, they (our happy in denial Muslim posters) have too much at stake emotionally, to admit the reality of wrong-doing committed by Mohammed. That is my take.

P.S. :takethat: This was the best I could do under the circumstances.

Oh, I suggest you don’t do that, Pam. You might get permanent infection which would be diffficult to shake off. 😃

God bless.

p/s Wonder whether they would want to do an r_not or a Reuben J. 😃

R_Not is unique and I personaly love to read his/hers postsm but then again, I enjoy yours as well! 😛

Be well and TGIF! I was having a breakdown because CAF was down all morning for systems maintenance! 😊

It’s interesting to know that the Quran does not prescribe stoning ,only the Bible does
** Yes, there is no stoning in Quran. The bibleOT has the stoning and even Jesus prescribed the punishment of stoning. He could not deny that. But he could not have it carried out for fear of the Roman Rulers.

Now Josie is taking special interest in films. I had a film by the title Da Vinci Code which proved that Jesus was married to Mary Magd and he had a child from that marriage too.

Using the films for malafide purposes could be interesting hobby. I as a muslim do not believe in stoning because there is no punishment of stoning in my religious book. I do not want that any one be stoned to death.

But what about the Catholics. Why they do not stone the adulterers when it is the punishment according to both bibleOT and bibleNT. They are disobeying the law of God. It is because of that disobedience that there is too much illegal sex in christian dominated countries. The reason is that the catholics have no punishment for adultery. If there is no stoning in christianity then there is no flogging too. So there is no punishment for adultery for the Catholics and they are in fact permitted to commit adultery.

Is that not so? We Muslims have flogging as real punishment and stoning as illegal punishment. But we have some punishment. I ask the Catholics what punishment they have for adulterers. Please tell. Leave the films alone.**
