Yet again I’m well aware of the seamless garment nonsense that got us eight years of an anti Catholic, pro contraception, pro abortion, redefining marriage, supporter of the Planned Parenthood that you’ve seen in the undercover videos government and as a side hobby laughed at the idea of religious liberty. Thankfully enough Catholics were not hoodwinked by that and we have a pro life administration.
You don’t have a pro-life administration.

So you deny that there are more than 5 non-negotiables?

You don’t have a pro-life administration.
So says you. I agree with the Susan B. Anthony List…
Happy Birthday to the most #ProLife president in history, @POTUS Donald J. Trump!!

We’re so thankful your administration has taken strong leadership to ensure every American has the right to enjoy their FIRST birthday!!

'These ’ is an open term. I just wanted to be sure who you were talking about.

I do disagree with you: they (Democrats and other Trump haters) are totally hysterical. I think Trump got the exact response he was looking to get. Now that they have pulled the scorched earth policy where do they go? Trump took Missouri by 20 points. Is calling Trump Hitler going to help Claire McCaskill? Or anger the conservative base?
I think their goal is just to ‘get out the vote’ of their current base, and their base is very forgiving of their ad hominem attacks and false hysteria. I’m not sure if their tactics do them any real harm with their base.

Watch “Hitler: A Career,” a 1977 German movie by Joachim Fest, who is the author of an excellent 1973 biography of Hitler as well. I saw this early last year, with no thoughts of Trump in my head–I had been to Nuremburg the summer before and had visited the Nazi rally sites, so it was a follow-up to that visit.

However, if you watch it (it’s on Netflix), you can’t help but be jolted every few minutes by the parallels to Trump and his loyal followers. It’s also noteworthy that after Nazi defeats in 1943 (Stalingrad and El-Alamein), Hitler only appeared in public 3 more times in his life. So perhaps we can look forward to some peace after the tariff debacle plays out.

I watched it too. I couldn’t help but be jolted by the similarities to the Antifa, the BLM, today’s fake news and those infected with TDS that I saw in this documentary. Running Trump workers and voters out of restaurants and other public accommodations is a page taken straight out of Hitler’s playbook vs the German Jews. Hillary sure hasn’t appeared in public all that often either.

What base do you think that these journalists have?

November elections…less than 5 months away. That will end any hope of Trump getting any bills through Congress. And then we will start in on the hearings…I can hardly wait! And I predict the end of the Republican Party for a generation.

ome of the heinous policies of Obama(like letting those born alive after abortion attempt suffocate to death) SO SAD. I must have forgotten about that…

Lawrence Britt wrote an article in 2003 about the common elements of fascism, and he found 14 signs.
Do any seem familiar in 2018?
  1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism.
  2. Disdain for the importance of human rights.
  3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause.
  4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism.
  5. Rampant sexism.
  6. A controlled mass media.
  7. Obsession with national security.
  8. Religion and ruling elite tied together.
  9. Power of corporations protected.
  10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated.
  11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts.
  12. Obsession with crime and punishment.
  13. Rampant cronyism and corruption.
  14. Fraudulent elections.

How cute. You probably think the Princess is in the castle at the end of world 1-4, too.

That gets predicted of both parties from time to time.
The parties won’t go away, but they will be ‘reinvented’ or reborn.
  • You could say Trump is leading that now against the establishment GOP.
  • Dems are in sore need of a real leader, someone that can take them out of their current quagmire, get their focus off identity politics and back on their constituency.

Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism
Patriotism?
Disdain for the importance of human rights.
Examples?
Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause.
That a socialist fascist tactic. See Saul Alinsky and Rules for Radicals.
The supremacy of the military/avid militarism.
Um the other countries of the world owe a debt of gratitude to our strong military. I find it interesting you suggest Russia is a threat(and it is), but think we should have a weak, downsized military.
Rampant sexism
Huh?
A controlled mass media.
Liberals control the media.
Obsession with national security
Um, why isn’t that of importance to you? Shouldn’t a government have the responsibility of protecting its citizens from threats to their lives?
Religion and ruling elite tied together.
Example? I think you mean Muslim ruled countries/Sharia Law.
Power of corporations protected.
As far as I know, corporations are subject to the law. If there are laws you would like to change, please write your congressmen. Pres Trump does not write legislation.
Power of labor suppressed or eliminated.
Example?
Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts.
Example of said suppression?
Obsession with crime and punishment.
Or you know, just carrying out justice according to laws on the books and not ignoring them.
Rampant cronyism and corruption
Which happens on both sides…and don’t pretend like it doesn’t.
Fraudulent elections
…which our Presidential election wasn’t. The Democratic Primary election of Hillary was fraudulent because the crony mass media were in bed with her…but thats another story.

Not the point of the thread — the point of a Catholic’s response to what’s happening around us.
I’m unsure what you are getting at… Everyone has an opinion and what they think is correct. Even you choose I side, which I have seen you for on several occasions. Expreeing ones opinion is the nature of a political thread.

Please explain to me how we stop the divisiness. If you were to ask me that question I would say that if you agree with me the divisiveness would stop. How would you like the divisiveness to stop?
